OOTD: Of Skaters and Sneakers

     Prolly you've noticed that it's very rare for me to make an OOTD post. Well, I have two outfit post due last year but the bummer in me forgot where I stored the photos. I mean, I have this tendency of transferring all the photos from my phone's memory card to my usb. Those usb came from events. I'm not bragging but I have a lot of them. Since most of them have cute designs, I keep them but I forgot to mark one by one so that if time comes  I need to transfer my photos, I don't have to insert them on my laptop one by one.

     Anyhoo, I have no choice but to do what I've said above and after fifteen tries I found OOTD shots taken last year after an event. The photos were shot using my shopgirl jen's phone and she emailed the photos to me, I downloaded it and stored in one of the usbs. To make a long story short, I'm posting an outfit of the day from last year.

     This photo was taken around September 2015 outside Mega Fashion Hall. If my memory serves me right, it's around 5:00 p.m. This is an impromptu shot. I don't have plans of doing an OOTD that day since we just came from an event but when I saw shopgirljen taking photos of another blogger- Karina of digitalfilipina.com, I told them that I'll join.

     I'm sure that you've seen some of the outfit posts that I published way, way back. When the skater skirt became a staple in every girls closet, I'm proud to say I'm one of them. Skater skirts are flexible, easy to pair with almost all kinds of clothing and foot wear.

     I have a very sensitive feet, I presume you've seen me wearing this sneakers in my photos over and over again. It's really comfy to wear, I didn't experience pain or other problems with this Skechers Go Walk 2 sneakers.

     So there you go, I can say this is my default outfit to date. I just mix and match them. We have an erratic weather but most of the time it's hot and humid. Wearing this pair somehow eases my body from the hot weather especially when going out and go to events. Outfit details below :)

Bonding with Kenzo at the Res|Toe|Run Rumble Yard Event

     Can I say that I'm lucky because I have bonding time with Kenzo everyday at home? Since I'm a stay-at-home mom, I have all the time in the world to spend quality time with him. I've seen him grow physically, emotionally and mentally. The experience of seeing his actions everyday is pure bliss. But there are times that we get boring, doing the same stuff everyday. So when the need to unwind and relax outside the house arise, we go out and chill in the mall. There are so many ways on how to spend quality time with your family and kids, sometimes the best venue- inside your favorite malls!

     Weeks ago, I was invited to have a unique bonding time with Kenzo. This bonding time is something that the whole family can do. Shoe shopping, anyone? Yes, buying a pair of shoes is a bonding where time will be well spent. I've realized that choosing the style of foot wear that I'll buy for my son will be more exciting if he's inside the store with me. There are times that I do the shoe shopping alone hence I've bought the wrong size and he doesn't want the style. With this kind of bonding, I've seen how Kenzo responded to different shoe styles. With this, he's able to show me what's inside his mind. More highlights of the event below :)

It's a  playground-themed event that was open to public and to media, celebrities, and online personalities.

     Kenzo and I had a blast during the event. Res|Toe|Run’s kids brands set up fun and exciting booths for boys and girls to explore, create, and enjoy at the Rumble Yard. “The overall idea of the event is to represent each brand’s personality.

• People Footwear offers excitement and thrill by creating a buzz
• Flossy and Faux Pas are both for the young girls who love to bring out their princess side

     The event was an enjoyable moment not only for the kids but for the entire family as well. The Res|Toe|Run Kids Rumble Yard is created for kids to have a special time to bond with their parents through fun and exciting games and activities. Family bonding and spending time with the kids is very important even in simple activities like this. That's why when they invited me and Kenzo to the event, I said yes. Looking for a pair of shoes with my son is a bonding that's so awesome. We enjoyed searching for the perfect pair of shoes.

     Apart from the booths, the event also hosted a one-hour program that is absolutely engaging such as the Faux Pas Pin the Jams, People Footwear’s Spell it, Win it!, Native’s Twister!, DC Shoes’ Longest Breath Challenge, and Flossy’s Prints Matching game. Families also go home with keepsakes at the Res|Toe|Run photo booth.

     Kenzo enjoyed the tattoo booth, he asked me if I will allow him to have this design on his arm. He wanted Spider Man but it will take more time to do that so the artist just tweaked the design.  It's still cool and Kenzo liked it!

     There are times that I cannot decide what type of shoes or sandals to wear when going out for a family dinner. I'm more of a sporty type of individual when it comes to dressing up. I prefer flats than heels or sneakers over pumps. I always look for comfort when choosing my foot wear because I have very sensitive feet. I know that I cannot sport that sporty casual look in some events or family dinner s that I have to attend to. The foot wear that I  must wear should also be in accordance with the type of occasion BUT now that the sporty trend is coming back I don't have to worry because the new trend in sporty type of foot wear is the sporty luxe :)

     Festival season is well underway, and this summer is seeing many of us heading off to our very first festival event. And there’s definitely enough choice in the shops when it comes to our fashion choices, from dainty crop tops to patterned playsuits, deciding what to wear can be quite a task! But, what are the real essentials, and what’s going to be a practical choice whilst still looking bang on trend for festival fashion? Read on to find out what’s best to – and not to – wear if you’re planning on going to a festival this summer.

Playsuits Aren’t Practical

     Although the majority of us are sure to want to copy the style of Vanessa Hudgens who looked amazing in a pretty little playsuit at Coachella, the truth is, playsuits are definitely not the most practical of outfits to wear for a festival. If it gets chilly and you need to use the portaloo, the last thing that you’re going to want to do is get undressed in that small amount of space.

     Dresses are a lot more practical at a festival if you’re looking for something just as cute as a playsuit. Choose a light, flowy dress with a trendy print – geometrical, floral and animal prints are all massive trends for this summer that will look fabulous, whatever festival you’re planning to attend. 

Flared Trousers

     Another fashion comeback that’s a huge trend this summer are flared trousers. However, if you’re thinking of wearing a pair of these to a festival, they’re not the most practical of choices – by day three when there’s no grass in sight and everything’s turned to mud, they’ll be your worst enemy as they drag along the floor and get you covered in mud. Plus, if you’re wearing wellies, are they going to look good together?

Denim Shorts

     You can’t get more practical at a festival than a simple pair of denim shorts. Paired with a floaty blouse, crop top, vest top and a pair of wellies – there really is nothing that basic denim shorts won’t go with. If you’re worried about feeling the cold, you could even take a pair of plain black leggings or tights to wear underneath, and you still won’t ruin your look. Yes, we’ve decided that when it comes to practical, fashionable festival wear, denim shorts are your best friend. Available to buy from almost anywhere, you really can’t go wrong!

Footwear

     Although you might want to pull out your favorite sandals especially if the weather’s forecast to be good, the most practical footwear that you can choose for a festival is a pair of wellies. After a couple of days even in dry weather the amount of people are sure to churn up some mud and muck, and the last thing you want to be doing is walking around getting your feet wet and dirty. Whether you choose to buy a pair of cheap wellies for the occasion or invest in a stronger, sturdier more expensive pair, we can’t stress enough how important it is to wear wellies – or at least waterproof footwear – at a festival this summer. 

Bags

     Festivals are jam packed full of people, so the last thing that you want to be doing is worrying about whether or not somebody’s pinching something out of your bag. Expect to be jostled around and pushed into a lot as well, so taking your five hundred dollar designer handbag to a festival is probably not the best of ideas. Instead, invest in a cheap rucksack, body-cross bag or even a bum bag where you can store any valuables, tickets, and money rather than leaving these items in your tent. 

Accessories

     When it comes to accessories you really can go wild at a festival, with everything from body jewelry to elaborate floral headdresses available. However, some accessories you’re really not going to want to forget – remember to protect yourself from the sun by wearing a pair of sunglasses, or at the very least a hat. Floppy hats are really in this summer, so why not wear one of those to keep yourself in the shade and looking fashionable and trendy at the same time.

     Steve Jobs had his black turtleneck and blue jeans, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg has his grey t-shirt and hoodie, Carrie Donovan (fashion editor for Vogue) had her large eyeglasses, black clothing, and pearls. These people kept their wardrobe simple and consistent and following in their footsteps can help you save money too! No need to buy several clothes if you basically have a uniform when you go to work. Another benefit is that it saves you time because you don’t have to fuss every morning on what to wear.

     Putting on a blazer or a coat makes it easy to look professional. Plus wearing one helps you feel authoritative not to mention it helps hide a crinkled shirt. The trick to wearing it well is to pick one that fits you well. Stick to dark colors without any stripes and you’ve got something to wear throughout the work week!

Shop Only When It’s On Sale

     End-of-season sales and other sale events are a great time to shop for the basics and blazers. But don’t overdo it! Once you’ve had a full set to cover your workweek, forget about updating your wardrobe until it needs replacing. You’re not saving money when you bought something on sale if you don’t need it.

     Hi dearies! The title of the post says it all though it was taken days after May 4th. If you're a Star Wars fan, I presume you have witnessed the collaboration of Star Wars and Folded n Hung last December during the Star Wars X Folded n Hung launch.      For this OOTD (Outfit of the Day), I decided to go simple casual look. I wore this to an event that I've attended at Fairview Terraces. I'm happy that my dress went well with my Skechers GoWalk2 sneakers and my snakeskin Celine inspired bag from The Baggeria. What do you think?      During the launch, I was having a hard time on what style of dress to choose. This print was my second choice. I really wanted to get the other style of dress that has a mesh sleeves. But unfortunately, the sizes left on display were too big for me. The prints on this dress are the starships, cruisers, battleships and other spacecraft in the Star Wars movie.

     It's been ages since my last OOTD (Outfit of the Day) post. Since the sky was clear, weather and the location was the perfect tandem for an outfit shoot, I decided to have another outfit post with the help of my blogger bestie Jen Maslang of shopgirljen.com

     This outfit is very simple. If you follow me on my social media accounts, I presume you've already seen me wearing these pieces. This was the attire I wore at the event I've attended last week in BGC. We were advised to wear a black and white outfit. When there's an event where we are required to wear something or let's say there's an attire, I usually ask help with my fasyown blogger friends. They know that I'll be asking "what to wear, what to wear" three days before the event. I always feel that I'll be under dress if I follow my decision when it comes to formal event. Women’s Outwear Trends For 2015

     Near the end of winter, we tend to keep an eye out for all that the upcoming season has to offer, especially when it comes to outerwear in the wardrobe department. And for that particular reason, coats and fleece jackets are considered the biggest trend among the must-haves. Keeping that in mind, here’s a compilation of the outerwear trends that are poised to be a hit in fashion outlets, consisting of designs that are bound to make you look trendy and fabulous.

Faux leather shearling and denim jackets

     Nothing gets hotter than a cozy, plush coat, figuratively and literally. Shearling coats are warm and can be worn as soon as the spring season comes to an end. Shearling jackets featuring faux leather are trending these days. 

     Another classic wardrobe staple is the denim jacket that continues to be made available in a variety of designs and style. Denims are one of the top figure-enhancing outerwear for the spring/summer season. These jackets can be dressed up when going out of town or worn casually; you can even consider styles with roll-up or three-quarter sleeves. 

Summer blazers 

     With lightweight and versatile blazers, you can dress down or up for any occasion. For the upcoming season, blazers are available in a variety of styles, including cuff sleeves and relaxed fit to give a slimming appearance. 

     Another trend is the single button blazer featuring ruched sleeves and notched lapels. Other styles include summer blazers with lightweight fabrics available in several styles including three-quarter length sleeves and linen or cotton. The wide range of color and style make them suitable for any occasion. 

Bomber jackets 

     Bomber jackets made with cotton and luxurious silk are expected to be the rage next season. In colors such as Navy blue and styles such as granddad collar, the bomber jacket is going to enable a huge fashion statement with timeless designs. 

     Bomber jackets have been preferred as outerwear for several decades and exciting variations of the trend are made every year. Fabric choices, styles and colors of these jackets vary for different brands, and sometimes even for the same brand. For instance, Burberry makes bomber jackets with cotton and silk blend for the summer season. 

Fleece vest jackets 

     Preppy clothes like button-downs and microfleece jackets is a fair game for most seasons, including the summers, making it grounds for any good outerwear investment. Also, these jackets, apart from promoting style and comfort, enables the wearer to accommodate multiple items courtesy of zip pockets featured on most of them. 

     For medium levels of activity during the winter season or for a season such as fall or spring, a mid-weight fleece jacket will suffice. A lighter jacket will provide flexibility for active sports play, while heavy sized jackets should be reserved for the busy winter days. 

Biker jackets 

     Biker jackets are adorned all over, and 2015 is no different. Look for a style featuring flashy accents and contrast sleeves. Another style that made the biker silhouette again is the jacket featuring embroidery in shiny paillettes and muted colors. 

     Seek biker jackets in tailored silhouettes and dark colors, featuring unique embroidery work. You can wear it with a fit and flare dress and narrow panel silhouettes. Choose plain fabrics for the rest of the attire to enable the embellishment to stand out.

     We visited Meet My Feet Fairview Terraces branch last January to check out the latest foot wear for boys. Upon reaching the store, Kenzo run hurriedly inside and sat in one of the elephant stools. He also reached some toys that were on display. I worried because he might broke something but it's actually there for the kids to play with. The unique concept of Meet My Feet's interactive play had helped me chose the pair of shoes for Kenzo fuss-free. SM Kids' Fashion 2014 Holiday Collection Launch

     Happy Holidays! I'm so excited to share with you the latest collection from SM Kids' Fashion. I was invited to SM Kids' Fashion 2014 Collection Launch last November 20 at SM Aura to get the first dibs on what's in for our little kiddos this season. Aside from the launch, the event also showcased SM Kids' Fashion Wishing Tree where the press and media present during the event wrote their wishes for Christmas. It's a very fashionable yet fulfilling event for everyone because by posting our selfies at Instagram and tagging two friends, we're able to share something for the benefit of San Roque Elementary School at Leyte :)

      Honestly, I'm looking forward to this collection. SM Kids' Fashion tops my list whenever I shop for my son's clothes including costumes, accessories, and even underwear plus the shoes of course! Why I'm excited? Because it's the time of the year where no one really cares about ones style especially with kids' fashion. Since my son's Christmas party is fast approaching, clothes from this collection are highly recommended by yours truly if you want your princes and princesses stand out from the crowd! Lazada Fashion Philippines LZD Launch

     Last November 18, I was invited by Lazada Philippines to get the first dibs as they launched their newest line of international brands as well as its own fashion line called LZD. The blogger and media event was held at R Space in Makati that aims to bridge the distance no matter how far the brands are from the country. The president of Lazada Inanc Balci wanted "Lazada to bridge that gap and provide the best fashion lines for Filipinos"

     The event was hosted by Anne-Marie Bodal, Fashion Creative Director at Lazada. She's one of the stylish person I saw during the event, from the way she projected the dress and the shoes she's wearing even if it's all black showed how passionate she is with fashion. Lazada Fashion Philippines introduced new designs for their in-house label LZD. I honestly was blown away by the designs of this collection because some of the clothes is sooo me!.
