Chinese food will always have a special place in our hearts because we grew up enjoying noodles like pansit canton and bihon or their comforting foods- dim sum like siomai and sharks fin. So when we received an invite to attend the blessing and grand launch of a Singaporean-Chinese restaurant near our area, we immediately said yes!

Last November 13, 2019, the 7th branch of Wangfu Chinese Cafe finally opened at SM City Fairview Parkway. It was a well-attended event with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a lion dance and was graced by Wangfu owners Richard Yap, Malou Santos, Ace Wang, and Lester Pimentel. After the ceremony, we got to try the best-selling viands on their menu. Scroll down to see the food offerings that we enjoyed and highly recommend.

What's your ultimate favorite all-around bag? A tote, bucket, satchel, hobo, duffel, messenger, backpack, or minaudiere? Did I miss one? It's so true that one can never have too many bags, so they, right? For some, each bag has a different use— carrying daily essentials or traveling while some loves a sturdy bag for hauling books in school or simply for flaunting it as a style statement.

Our bags play an essential role in life these days. Whether you are working or still in school, your bag keeps all the essential things you need for the day. Some bags are made of expensive leather, some are made of sturdy canvas. While most just go for durability and affordability, some still prefer fashion and value. Each bag has a story and a bag can say so many things about its owner, too. But despite the latest style and trend, there are some bags created for a different and a more important purpose.

5 Ways to Teach Kids the Value of Money

Tuesday, November 26, 2019

Growing up in a family with a bakeshop business has taught me a lot especially in handling money at an early age. We used to have a bakery in my parent's house and business starts as early as 4 in the morning. Since I'm the eldest, it's my responsibility to help run our 'panaderya' after school and on weekends.

I'm the cashier that's why I learned the value of money and the difference of twenty pesos and a hundred bucks in terms of buying and selling bread products. From what I saw from my parents, you have to earn it the hard way in order for you to think more than twice before spending it. They instilled in me the difference between needs and wants and why it is important to save money at an early age. Now that I'm a mom to an adolescent, it's time to teach my son the simple tips that I've learned from my parents on the value of savings.
