Product Review: Glupa Whitening Lotion

Sunday, December 21, 2014

Hi dearies! Here's my honest to goodness review of Glupa Whitening Lotion. I've emptied the bottle of this lotion only last week because I don't use it everyday. It took me around two months because I use the lotion every other day or when I feel like using it. There are days that I prefer not to use this 'instant white/concealing' lotion because I perspire a lot if the weather is scorching hot.

I guess that's the only downside of this product if you're like me who sweat a lot. BUT the product works like magic if you really want to achieve that 'instant white skin' in minutes :) With continued use the product does not only gives that 'instant white effect' because it does lighten and whiten dark marks. It also contains anti-aging ingredients that I'm sure those who have tight budget will surely like this product as it functions as 2-in-1 (whitening and anti-aging) lotion in a bottle. Product Review: Glupa Glutathione+Papaya Soap

Thursday, December 04, 2014

I've tried a lot of whitening soaps sold in the market today. If you're a lurker in this blog, prolly you know that I've switched to organic soaps for the sake of my sensitive skin. I'm fair already, to begin with, whitening soaps either lighten skin blemishes that I get from pimple marks, insect bites or minor wounds like paper cut or from unconsciously scratching my skin while sleeping. I use whitening soap to maintain or even out my skin tone because there are times that I'm always out running errands in the afternoon. A change in a tone like one shade lighter is a bonus for me and it only means that the soap is very effective. For reference, I'm NC 15-20 in MAC.

Anyhoo, I was invited by Age Defy Solutions the makers of Glupa products to an intimate gathering of beauty bloggers months ago. They gave us full-sized samples of their skin care products to try. The first product that I'm giddy to road test was the Glupa soap. I got intrigued with this whitening soap because the endorser is Boy Abunda. It is also a whitening soap that contains a powerful combination of glutathione and papaya. After a month of using the soap, here's my honest to goodness review of Glupa (Glutathione + Papaya) soap. Click CONTINUE READING and find out my experience.

Product Review: Glupa Glutathione+Papaya Soap

Feature: Glupa (Glutathione + Papaya) Skin Whitening System

Monday, October 13, 2014

Skin whitening is very popular nowadays here in our country. Based on my observation while doing our grocery shopping, women including men spend more than 10 minutes scrutinizing the list of whitening ingredients in their chosen soap brand/s. Glutathione is the most sought after skin lightening ingredient in the market today. Some manufacturers produce glutathione alone or combine other whitening ingredients that will boost the effect of skin whitening. Have you seen or heard the brand Glupa? To those who've seen the commercial I'm sure you're puzzled why the endorser is Boy Abunda.

Did you know that Glupa is the first whitening product to get an endorser that is not fair skinned? Yes, yes, yes! I'm sure you already know that endorser and was intrigued more about the product he's endorsing.

Glupa, is a breakthrough combination of Glutathione and Papaya that gives you twice the whitening power and twice the Glutathione content. It also provides the proper nutrients needed to promote the body's own ability to manufacture and utilize glutathione

Glutathione + Papaya makes the best protection against oxidative stress in cells, thus, strengthening our natural defenses, markedly decreasing our risk of getting sick, increasing the body's ability to utilize whole food antioxidants, while guarding against the effects of free radicals on the body's aging process. Product Review: Natura Organics Fruit Bio-Active Complex C- Miracle Body Polish

Saturday, April 05, 2014

Ah body scrubs! First thing that comes to my mind when someone says exfoliate. There are different types of body scrubs in the market today and I'm sure you're having a hard time looking for the one. I've tried more than 5 brands of body scrubs before and I can say that based on the scrubber used as the main ingredient, you can see really tell which one will agree to your skin. There are salt type body scrubs, paste type with very fine beads, cream type with fruit seeds or fiber as exfoliant and etc, etc. I presume that you all know I'm an avid fan of organic products and I'm still on search for the best or at least better alternative to chemically-harsh skin care products in the market today. As for the body scrubs, I think I haven't found the best in terms of the quality and price but I've discovered one of the cost-effective especially if you're into luxurious body scrubs. I'm a cheapskate that's why even if the product is worth the price, I'm still having thoughts if I'll push through with it or just look for another alternative.

I think this body polish comes with a hefty price tag compared to the brands that I've tried before but if you'll look closely to the ingredients, the natural ingredients used are of high quality and yes they are expensive too. Take for example the grapeseed fiber used as scrubber, I love eating grapes but whatever season we have the price of this fruit is high compared to other fruits in the market. But if you have the money to splurge a little on a skin care product that contains effective ingredients then I recommend you try this body polish. So without further ado, here's the review of Natura Organics Fruit Bio-Active Complex C-Miracle Body Polish. Click CONTINUE READING to know more about the product.

Product Review: Be Organic Papaya Bearberry Soap

Friday, October 11, 2013

Hello dearies! Have you joined my 2nd Year Anniversary Giveaway yet? If not join HERE! I’m very excited to share this review because it’s one of the organic brands in the market today that offers promising natural products for the hair, skin, face and body. I already reviewed one of their soap- The Papaya Kojic and I highly recommend this organic whitening soap for individuals with sensitive skin. If you missed the review just click HERE. Now I’m going to share my thoughts on another variant of soap from Be Organic Bath and Body, this time it’s their whitening and anti-aging soap- The Papaya Bearberry. Does one of the ingredients sound new to you? I guess you’ll answer yes. Actually the bearberry is not that new to me, I already tried another brand of soap with bearberry extract but it is combined with other fruit extracts too. This time it’s combined only with Papaya so the combination is new to me. What exactly is Bearberry extract?
Bearberry extract is made from the leaves of the bearberry plant. It is commonly used as an astringent in cosmetic preparations and skin care products. Astringents are cleansers that remove dirt and oil from the skin's pores. It is also used as a lightening agent to fade freckles or skin discoloration which may be caused by sun damage or hormonal conditions.
And because I’m already 30 years old, I give more importance to anti-aging. I’m already fair to begin with so it’s less of importance for me to get fairer, just even skin tone will do. This variant of soap is another lemming from the brand because when I saw it at Sesou I told myself to buy it next time I'll visit the store. But to my surprise Ms. Cheryl of Be Organic Bath and Body send samples of their products. I'm one happy kid! The moment I received the package, I opened the soap and used it right away. Excited to know my experience about the soap? Here it is, my honest to goodness review of Be Organic Papaya Bearberry Soap
Be Organic Papaya Bearberry Soap
This handmade soap has the highest and purest ingredients that whiten and nourish skin. Contains papaya enzyme which reduces dark spots from acne, blackheads and pimples. Combined with Bearberry extract, one of the most powerful skin lighteners.

Product Review: Be Organic Papaya Kojic Soap

Friday, September 06, 2013

On my trip to Robinson's Galleria a month ago, I saw a big kiosk of SESOU store. It's a store where you can buy everything organic, from head to toe! They also sell general cleaning items and other stuff that's environment friendly. This is the store where I first met my favorite All Organics Soaps that I still purchase from time to time. I was looking for my favorite All Organics Calamansi variant that time but it's OOS. I was contemplating if I'll get another fave, the Singkamas variant or try another organic brand. Well, trying another brand can be risky for me now since my skin's condition these past few days was very sensitive. Breakouts here and there and my old skin care regimen seems not working anymore. So even though I was skeptical on trying an new organic brand, I still pursued buying one from Be Organic.

My skin concerns as of the moment are tiny bumps like whiteheads that will turn into zits after a few days, rough and dry cheeks and some oiliness on my chin and nose. I know that the cause of this is hormonal. I already went to my OB-Gynecologist to have a general check up. Anyhoo, there are four variants of Be Organic soap that time and I have my eyes glued on the Papaya Kojic soap. I was brave enough to try kojic soap because I already tried this variant of soap from different brands before. What's new to me is the combination of Papaya and Kojic.  I've been using the soap for more than three weeks now and the results are erratic. I guess the effects on my skin is not because of the soap but mainly the hormonal changes that I've been going through.
Be Organic Papaya Kojic Soap
Achieve that flawless, blemish free, and younger looking skin in no time, Kojic Acid is a mushroom extract, and used to lighten discoloration such as freckles and age spots. It penetrates the skin and goes into deep cellular layers to inhibit dark pigmentation from forming. Azelaic and Glycolic acids effectively kill acne causing bacteria, control excess oil production and speed up skin cells turn over to reveal glowing new skin.

Product Review: Snoe White Organic Papaya Beauty Bar

Thursday, February 07, 2013

Finally, I'll be sharing my thoughts on this soap after using it for more than 3 weeks now. You now that I love Snoe white soaps sooo much! This is my 5th variant of soap from Snoe and methinks their soap was formulated for my skin. From Vitamin C Rich CalamansiOrganic Green Papaya, The Special Black Bleaching Bar, Special Kojic and Glutathione soaps that I considered award-winning in terms of whitening department, here's another soap from Snoe to love. I'm also adding this soap on the list above because I also find this effective in terms of whitening but it's very gentle on skin. So if you're confused and don't know what soap to choose among the 10 variants, then Organic Papaya will be the best bet for sure.

When you visit the FB page of Snoe Beauty particularly on Snoe White beauty soaps, you'll see a chart where you can select a soap bar that can give you 2 or 3 results in just one bar. This chart already indicated the variant of soap depending on your skin needs. But always remember that each soap will have different reactions on each individual because we have different skin types and conditions. I'm hoping that you'll also consider some factors like your age and make sure you know if you're allergic to one of its ingredients so that you can have peace of mind in trying new soaps. Now here it is, my honest to goodness review of another soap that I'm sure you'll see on my next haul posts :D Enjoy reading!

There's 10 variants of Snoe white soaps to try and it's formulated to cater every skin need. Yay! This is the 5th variant of soap from Snoe that I'm also loving now. It's gentle and mild in terms of whitening. I guess I have to make this another substitute in my HG snoe soaps so that my skin will have a resting period and will not be immune to those ingredients. I highly recommend this soap, my skin loves it! Methinks of making combo soaps after trying all the 10 variants so that I can recommend which soap goes best with.

What SNOE variant combo do you think will suit your skin needs? Share away dearies?

Good Times!~

November and December Hauls

Monday, December 31, 2012

Before the year ends, I would like to squeeze in pending posts from my November and December haul. Since I'm on a tipid mode, I only bought few products for the last two months. Some products here are my HG's while some were purchased just to try if they're worth of my tight budget.

Before the Glorietta Vibe fashion show walk, I decided to buy a makeup remover wipes that can melt waterproof mascara without using an eye makeup remover. I think it's more convenient than bringing a bottle of eye makeup remover and cotton balls during the event. I also bought this foot socks and nail polish remover wipes for my feet. The Mondes Ionic Keratin hair treatment was purchased out of curiosity. I'm not happy with the product, I develop pimples and wound like itchy flakes on my scalp. I guess I'm allergic to one of its ingredient but I don't know what to pinpoint :(
Foot socks
Tony Moly Floria Cleansing Tissues
Mondes Ionic Keratin Treatment
Wish Nail Polish Remover
I also bought a back up of my favorite makeup remover wipes- Purederm  just in case my skin will react to Tony Moly Floria makeup remover wipes. This soap was given by my SIL when I visited my parents house. I was surprise when I read the label that it's manufactured by Splash- a local company selling beauty and bath products. But this was only sold through their direct-selling line like that of AVON. So now Splash is also making it's way on direct-selling, let's wait and see if they'll make noise this 2013. You know how I love Asian Secrets, and based on my experience this body scrub already replaced my first love on Abonne. I find this more convenient to use and doesn't hurt my skin if I use the scrub everyday!

Asian Secrets Lulur Body Scrub
Seriously White Gluathione Soap
Purederm Makeup Cleansing Tisuues

My last haul for this year came from Snoe. Yay for new variants: Licorice and Organic Papaya :) I bought these two from a BOGO sale at Cinderella. The SA their informed me that they're having a sale so I grabbed the opportunity. I already reached my third month of using the black bleaching soap so I need to rest my skin from bleaching and use a milder one. When Ms. Jen of Snoe suggested the Special Kojic and Glutathione combo as a substitute for black bleaching I followed her and loving the results!

My sister just gave me this toner to try. At first I was hesitant because I find this toner too strong for my thin skin. But Janet's review of Eskinol convinced me to try this product. Let's see if this product will fare good on my skin.

Snoe White Lightening Licorice Beauty Bar
Snoe White Special Kojic with Glutathione Beauty Bar
Snoe White Organic Papaya Soap
Eskinol Spot-less White Facial Deep Cleanser

Product Review: SNOE White Organic Green Papaya

Saturday, March 31, 2012

Hi, Im back! As promised, I'll share with you my experience on Snoe White's Organic Green Papaya after two weeks of using it. If your like me who loves reading every bit of information on product labels, you will see its claim of whiter skin in two weeks. If I were to gauge the soap on the whitening department, I can say that two weeks time is such a short period to see its effectiveness because in my own experience on using different whitening soaps, it takes more than a month of using it religiously. Well maybe its only me and my "balat sibuyas" skin (thin skin) that is immune to whitening products so it takes a lot of time to achieve maximum results. But oh boy, I'm amazed with this soap because I can see drastic changes on my skin within a short span of time given that I stayed more than 5 hours exposed in the sun around 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. last week. So here's my take on organic green papaya soap, my new HG soap :)

image taken from www.snoebeauty.com
No.8 Snoe White Organic Green Papaya Beauty Bar
Green Papaya's papain enzyme has been proven to be 50 to 100 times stronger than other similar natural natural whitening ingredients and it helps dissolve dead and damage skin resulting to a fairer and more radiant skin. See dramatic whitening results in a short span of two weeks.
size: 150g

price: 139.75 php (Around $3.25)

place bought: Landmark, Trinoma

instruction for use: wet skin, lather beauty bar and apply thoroughly. leave on skin for 2 minutes. expect a slight tingling or prickly sensation. rinse thoroughly. for best results use sunblock with spf30 after bathing.

ingredients: Green Papaya Pulp, Bearberry and Fruit Extracts, Vitamin C and E, Jojoba Oil, High Grade Coconut Oil

What I like:
  • It's organic!
  • Cute packaging.
  • Doesn't sting my eyes.
  • Doesn't melt fast.
  • The scent is not overpowering.
  • Smooth and gentle on my skin.
  • There's a lightening on dark marks in my legs caused by insect bites.
  • Easily accessible.
  • Affordable.
What I don't like:
  • No batch, manufacturing and expiry date
Will I repurchase? Yes! I'm on my second bar now. I'm itching on trying other variants but I want to use it religiously to see maximum results.

Recommendation:
I give this soap a 4.25/5 rating. Use the soap as instructed. Organic soap does not contain any  soap hardener and our hot humid weather will make the soap melt faster. I always cut the soap in half. I highly recommend this soap, my skin loves it!

Have you tried this variant of Snoe White soap? Thanks for sharing!

Good Times!~

Product Review: A Bonne Spa White C Salt

Saturday, November 26, 2011

Hi dearies! I noticed that I'm soooo lazy these past few days and have long due posts waiting to be published. Methinks it's time to start reviewing on skin care products again. If you're a reader of my blog since August, prolly you'll know that most of my product review have been tried and tested by yours truly for more than a year. I think this time span is long enough to prove the effectiveness of one product. So now I'll share with you another great and cheap, should I say dirt cheap but so effective product.
Introducing *drum roll please* A Bonne' Spa White C Salt. This product is composed of fine-grained spa salt enriched with milk protein. This is an all-in-one skin treatment without causing irritation, it gently removes grime, sweat and pollutants from skin pores which cause body odor and reveals white, smooth and younger-looking skin. Scrubbing will improve blood circulation, giving your skin a healthy glow right after use.

It contains MILK PROTEIN that helps skin to retain moisture, prevent dryness and roughness, giving skin lasting radiance and LEMON and PAPAYA extract to lighten tone, giving it a fairer and more radiant look.

size: 350g

price: 67.50php (Around $1.55)

place bought: Watson's Health and Beauty Store Sm Fairview

instruction for use: Pour spa salt on your palm and scrub gently on wet skin using circular movement. Leave it on for 3 minutes and rinse off with water. Continue your shower routine.

ingredients: Sodium Chloride, Bentonite, Kaolin, Dermawhite, Allantoin, Milk Protein, Lemon Extract, Papaya Extract

What I like:
  • The scent is citrusy with a hint of papaya that smells good and not overpowering.
  • Really does the job in exfoliating the skin. I see a glowing effect after use.
  • Skin feels soft after scrubbing. There's also suppleness and no need for lotion.
  • The price is really cheap!
  • There's a batch number, expiration date printed on the package.
What I don't like:
  • The scent doesn't last long on my skin.
  • The grains may hurt if you rub it directly on dry skin.
Will I repurchase? Yes! This is a staple in my bathroom.

Recommendation:
I give this a 5/5 rating.  It's my HG body scrub. I really love this even though sometimes I get hurt because I scrub too much and put a lot of pressure on my hand while scrubbing. I love how it  really exfoliates my skin and I really can see the "libag" as what we call in dead skin in Filipino. If you want to have a gentle exfoliation, you can mix the scrub with bath or shower gels before scrubbing. I exfoliate 2 or 3 times a week only. I alternate this with Asian Secrets Lulur body scrub.

Do you exfoliate during your bath time? What body scrubs do you prefer? Thanks for sharing!

   Good Times!~

Haul: Bath Essentials plus Makeup Stuff

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Another haul after visiting Asian Eye Institute at TriNoma. It's crazy that all sales are everywhere! TriNoma is also having a sale of up to 70% till the end of the month. I want to congratulate my self for not spending too much yesterday. Mall sales can be tempting for a cheapskate like me and I have to stop myself from buying because I'm saving for something expensive.

Anyhoo, I bought 3 soaps from All Organics, a white eyeliner, a body scrub and a substitute for my facial wipes which is OOS again. My favorite facial wipes is Neutrogena. Since I ran out of my wipes, I have to purchase Nivea instead.

L-R: All Organics Calamansi Soap, Papaya with Glutathione Soap, A Bonne' Spa White C Salt,
Shawill Eyeliner and Nivea Visage Cleansing Wipes

I will be reviewing A Bonne' Spa White C Salt Scrub on my next post. This is my HG body scrub and been using it for more than a year now. I will also share my thoughts on Nivea facial wipes and Shawill eyeliner. I need to practice lining my waterlines before making a review on Shawill eyeliner.

What's your latest haul?Happy Wednesday everyone!

Good Times!~

Product Review: Royale Beauty Kojic and Papaya Soap

Saturday, October 29, 2011

I'm also a fan of Kojic soaps before. I've tried several brands like Kojie San, Japan Kojic Soap, Cyleina Kojic soap and others that I already forgot. I know this soap lightens the skin but you have to be patient enough to see the results.

My sister-in-law joined this Royale Networking Business Club. This Royale Kojic Papaya soap is one of their products. You can read everything about Royale Business Club here.
Royale Beauty Kojic and Papaya Soap
Kojic Papaya Soap moisturizes and lightens the skin, has mild peeling effect.
Royale Beauty Kojic and Papaya Soap
You can see the expiry date, batch and manufacturing on the upper right of the box
Royale Beauty Kojic and Papaya Soap
Wrapped in a plastic so it's all sealed.
Royale Beauty Kojic and Papaya Soap
Same color orange like other kojic soap in the market
Royale Beauty Kojic and Papaya Soap
size: 130g

price: 180php (Around $4.20+)

place bought: Royale distributors and re- sellers

instructions for use: Use Kojic Papaya soap all over the body for bathing, lather well, rinse thoroughly and moisturize. I also use it on my face.

ingredients: Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Stearic Acid, Glycerine, Cocodiethanolamide, Water, Sodium hydroxide, Sodium lactate, Kojic Acid, Papaya Extract, Yellow Iron Oxide, Red Iron Oxide, Perfume.

What I like:

  • The soap doesn't melt easily.
  • Says true to its mild peeling effect so I know it sloughs away dead skin.
  • Keeps my skin moisturize and has a glow after use.
  • The packaging is classy. Can be compared to the packaging of high end soaps like Metathione and Kyosoku Bihaku or KB soap.
  • The batch, manufacturing and expiration date is printed on the packaging.
  • Well sealed so you know it's fresh from the manufacturer.

What I don't like:
  • A bit pricey for a kojic papaya soap compared to other effective brands in the market.
  • The scent reminds me of Perla detergent soap.
  • May sting if the soaps lather is left for more than two minutes.
  • It stings my eyes big time. I always make sure that the soap won't get in my eyes unlike other soaps that I can tolerate if accidentally get in my eyes.

Will I repurchase: No, I love my All Organics Bath Soaps. If ever I want to try Kojic and Papaya soap again, there's a lot of brand to choose from.

Recommendation:
I give this soap a 3/5 rating. I'm a cheapskate so this is pricey for me. I don't find any special with this soap. I'm not sure if there's a lightening on my blemishes and dark spots because I only use this soap for a month. If you want to shell out more than a hundred bucks for a soap, you can try this. I think the only good with this soap is the mild peeling effect and the glow it gives after bathing.

What Kojic Papaya soap have you tried?Have a happy weekend everyone!

Good Times!~

Product Review: All Organics Bath Soap- Papaya with Glutathione

Thursday, October 20, 2011

I'm sure a lot of us wants to have fair, pinkish white smooth skin that's why whitening products are sold everywhere. From soaps, lotions, face creams, facial toners and the more expensive ones like whitening pills, injectables, etc, etc, name it and I'm sure one of us can recommend a brand or two.

Since high school days, I've seen different kinds of whitening soap from my mom's toiletries. The first whitening soap that I saw was Likas Papaya. I know everyone knows this soap. Many claimed of its effectiveness. I once use this soap and I can say it's effective. But as time pass by, papaya whitening soaps grew like mushrooms everywhere. I only can name a few brand and one that become staple in my bath essentials is the All Organics Papaya with Glutathione Bath Soap.

The brand sounds familiar, eh? Yes, it is my favorite brand of organic soap and I know it also deserves a review here. So let's start the review, shall we?

Recommendation:
I give this soap a 5/5 rating. I highly recommend this soap to everyone. I can't think of any negative thing with this soap. I'm using this soap alternately with my calamansi soap and I love the effect on my skin. For maximum results, leave the soaps lather on skin for 3 minutes then rinse. Since it's organic, I always cut the soap into half so that it will not melt easily. Always remember that natural products can cause allergic reaction. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
