OOTD: Classic

Wednesday, January 31, 2018

It's been a long time since I posted an outfit of the day post of my son. I presume you've seen my Instagram post of his latest OOTD. It's not easy to make kids pose in front of the camera. If your kid is cooperative, you're lucky. You can take outfit shots anytime, anywhere. But in my case, it's always a trial and try kind of game.

When my son is so game to pose, I'm trigger happy that's why I always bring my mirrorless camera with me. I don't have a scheduled post for outfit shots that's why I'm so happy when an unplanned photo session happens. Sharing my son's OOTD that was taken after attending a birthday party at Robinsons Magnolia.

Choosing the Right Outfit for a Special Occasion

Monday, April 10, 2017

If you have a special occasion to attend like a garden party, a corporate event or a wedding, you want to look your best. Of course, that means going out and buying a nice outfit. It is a great chance to spend a little extra money, and buy something special. You are looking for the type of outfit you would never get the chance to wear otherwise.

Dressing for special occasions in the Spring / Summer season is far easier than it is to find an outfit for an event in the winter or autumn. Generally speaking, in the summer, you have more options. For example, you can choose to wear a strappy sandal or a pair of closed in shoes. Both options work equally as well. Of course, in the winter, it would be too cold to wear open footwear, but there are always plenty of nice court shoes available.

Choosing the Right Outfit for a Special Occasion

A touch of luxury

When buying for a special occasion it is always a good idea to try to buy something that is made from rich fabrics. Most of us do not wear silk, satin or lace in our everyday lives, which keeps them special. Rich fabrics like these look fantastic, feel good against the skin, and because they are heavier, garments made from them tend to hang well.

Tap into the theme

If the event you are attending has a theme, bear it in mind when you are buying your outfit. This will help to inspire you and ensure that you buy something that blends in and works well for the special occasion you are attending.

Follow the dress code

For some events there is a dress code, which you should always read before you go shopping. It is usually wise to follow the rules. Sometimes, not doing so could lead to your being denied entry.

Get the tone of your outfit right

If the event is a traditional one, for example an awards ceremony or something like one of The Queen’s garden parties you need to get the tone of your outfit right too. The best way to do this is to look at photos of the last few years’ events, and take your cue from those.

Get the fit right

For a special occasion, you should always shop well in advance. This gives you the time to try everything on together and address any issues. If something needs altering it can easily take a couple of weeks for your seamstress to do the work and get the item back to you.

Accessorise carefully

Perhaps the most important aspect of shopping for an occasion outfit is getting the accessories right. Little touches like having items like fascinators dyed to match the rest of your accessories can make all the difference to your overall look.

Most women get their hair done on the day, but rarely consider getting their makeup done professionally as well. If you can afford it, and time allows, this is well worth doing, so you can achieve a flawless look. Sometimes employing a makeup artist works out cheaper than buying a set of new makeup products for the special event.

Simple Tips for #PerfectOOTD + OPPO F1s Feature

Tuesday, December 27, 2016

How do we define a #PerfectOOTD? I presume that the first thing inside your mind is the outfit- the style that the outfit is trying to show. It may be plain and simple, edgy, girly, sporty, and so on as long as one knows how to mix and match clothing pieces to create different pegs and styles.

Nowadays, having a perfect OOTD doesn't only evolve in the outfit per se. If you want to stand out in your OOTDs better practice simple techniques that will make you and your outfit look great in photos. I'm not a pro- fashion blogger but I've shared some ootd posts before and whenever I feel that I have captured great images of my outfit that day. Sharing with you my recent outfit of the day post plus simple tips for that #PerfectOOTD below :)

OOTD: J's On His Feet

Tuesday, December 06, 2016

Hello mommies! Here's another OOTD of my son Kenzo wearing his latest kicks- Jordan Eclipse BG. I want to share a short story why I'm a fan of Jordan shoes. When I was in high school, Nike released series of Air Jordans like Jordan 11, Jordan 12, and Jordan 13. I bought the first two because of their colors (combination of white, red, and black) that I really like. I wore those rubber shoes during P.E. days and when I'm wearing jeans and shorts.

Fast forward today, the styles that I've mentioned above became rare. I think the original Jordan 11 and Jordan 12 sells for more than Php 10,000 now. If you're a fan of Air Jordan prolly you have those iconic shoes in your collection. Nike Jordan offers a wide array of rubber shoes today and I'm confused with the styles and names of new releases I see in stores and online. The story behind Kenzo's Jordan Eclipse BG after the jump!

With timeless pieces such as tops, pants, skirts, and dresses, the latest collection features cheerful Christmas colors—mainly blues, reds, yellows and greens.

Anna Lagon, Bayo’s creative director, said the team was inspired to create a collection that would bring out fun memories of childhood and that its holiday line of Style Harvest is memoir to every adult and young adults’ Christmas.
“We literally had a playful time while working on the various pieces along with the unique artworks, inspired by the iconic toys we have chosen; it did bring out the child in us. After all, this season, is the happiest time of the year not only for the young, but also for the young at heart,” Lagon said.
Bayo’s color palette was based on happy hues and shades that complement the season. “Design sensibilities remain classic and elegant, which are all consistent with what Bayo is all about” Lagon said.

This year, Bayo is partnering with KIDS 4 Others (Kids in Dedicated Service 4 Others) to celebrate the season of giving. Part of the proceeds from this collection will go to the Concordia Children’s Services and Gentle Hands Inc.

Style Harvest is a collaborative brand of Bayo launched in 2013 promoting Filipino creativity. This brand also aims at helping communities and organizations by sponsoring projects that help cultivate Filipino talent and ingenuity.

Last year, Bayo collaborated with the Tourism Office of Pampanga that invoked the Filipino Christmas tradition by taking inspiration from the parols made by the artisans of San Fernando Pampanga. Bayo also made partnership with Virlanie Foundation, Inc. to support its mission to help less fortunate children. Both organizations foster the love for the Filipino and its heritage.

Cool Kids Wear Swag Junior

Tuesday, November 08, 2016

What comes to your mind when you hear the word swag? It's an internet slang that became popular last year and is used to describe a type of style especially in outfits. I've seen photos on Instagram with the hashtag 'swag outfit' and that outfit is more of a street style to me. It's sporty and edgy at the same time.

Last October, I was invited to the launch of the newest clothing brand for the lil boys and girls- Swag Junior. Swag Junior is a fashion street wear brand for the coolest kids in town. Designed to be a contemporary yet comfortable alternative to typical children’s fashion, Swag Junior's collections are inspired by one of the world’s most distinct fashion meccas, Japan. Mommies we have reason to celebrate, because Swag Junior has brought their one-of-a-kind aesthetic to Manila. Are you ready to see the collection and how cool a kid can be just by wearing Swag Junior? Read more below :)
