     Everyone deserves to be treated right- normal or not. When I was young, I secretly laugh if I see a person with abnormality. I still don't know that time why they are like that. But as I grow up, I learned that some individuals with disabilities need love, care, and support not only from their families and relatives but also from the people around them. I've learned to appreciate and understand them with the help of my teachers in Psychology back when I was in college.

     Ten years ago, Dolores Cheng formed The Center for Possibilities Foundation (CFP). “It was my own coming to terms with the condition of my son,” she shares. Andreas, now 22, was diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay when he was 3 years old. “There were no support groups for his particular type of disability, I didn’t know where to go, who to see, where to find what I needed to know. I wanted to understand what it meant to raise a child with special needs. So I thought that maybe if I formed a group of my own, I would be able to ring a call to other people who might be in the same boat and need some help,” Dolores continues.

     Vic Sotto plays the role of Vito who finds himself at odds and in a bitter professional rivalry with Cora, played by Ai-Ai. The two are both in the business of mounting special events and productions and have both made a successful name in the same profession. The conflict happens when their respective wards – Anna (played by Maine) daughter of Vito, gets romantically entangled with Cora’s beloved nephew Dondi (played by Alden). As expected, the “parents” actively reject the budding romantic involvement between the star-crossed lovers and willingly struck an unexpected truce to prevent this romance from happening.

     The plot thickens when the unexpected alliance of the Vito and Cora starts blooming into something else. Now, it’s the turn of the youngsters to feel disconcerted with the idea of having their folks enter into a different relationship zone. Now it was the turn of Dondi and Anna to react to the situation. They did not like the idea of his auntie and her father falling in love with each other. Now it was the younger generation vehemently reacting to this new romance.

     Before I became a blogger, I have all the time in the world to spend it with my one and only son. We bond together in simple ways like watching television shows, playing with car toys, and malling. Fast forward today, I'm guilty that I only spend a few hours bonding with him. I miss the good 'ol times when we were watching our favorite movies and series on youtube.

     Recently, there are movies and series that's a pain to watch online. It's either the video has been taken down by the owner or the copy uploaded lacks quality.      Our favorite television series as of the moment is Theodore Tugboat. This show is somewhat like to Thomas and Friends. Theodore's adventures explore feelings, fairness and friendship in each episodes. This classic television series is also shown in youtube BUT they don't have the complete list of episodes unlike what HOOQ is offering.

     Basically, these are the simple things that I've experienced with HOOQ but these things are priceless-the bonding moment I have with my son every time we watch our favorite shows is bliss. We get to have those 'fun time' singing the songs in the series and playing a mini trivia game too.

     An American crime-drama, Gotham stars Ben McKenzie of The OC fame as a young James Gordon in the crime-riddled metropolis of Gotham City. The show also features other recognizable actors such as Robin Lord Taylor from Law and Order, Donal Logue from Sons of Anarchy, and Jada Pinkett Smith from Hawthorne.

     Since this series is one of the much awaited offerings from HOOQ, there's a mini role play during the re-launch of HOOQ last October 8 at URBN Bar and Kitchen. What's a role play without the characters of Gotham. The attendees were challenge to solve the mystery that night. There were clues laid in the crime scene and the detectives were out to solve the crime: HOOQ official ambassadors were kidnapped! They need to recover them and arrest the suspect!

Flotsam The Movie Press Launch

     What if you're in 1 surf town, seeing 8 love stories, and have heard 10 original song? Then you're in FLOTSAM! Last September 30, I was invited to the press launch of this unique movie starring Solenn Heussaff and Rocco Nacino. The launch was held at 12 Monkeys Music Hall and Pub, Century City Mall. 

     I'm sure by now you have no idea about FLOTSAM. Well, this movie is inspired from the lifestyle of surfers here in our country. “Flotsam is the first film I shot and directed myself. It was one of those materials that I wanted to hold really close to my chest and be hands-on from writing to shooting all the way to the very end. I wanted to hold the camera all the time, even all the handheld, even the water scenes, I wanted to shoot everything. It was the only way I knew how,” narrates the director-Jay Abello IV on his personal blog. Are you intrigued with this movie that will be showing in theaters two weeks from now? Flotsam The Movie

     With charm, wit, and clever twists, not to mention a terrific pair of leads, Flotsam is this year’s maindie love anthology—8 (interweaving) love stories, offering something relatable for everyone.

     A film named after a quaint artist beach hotel in San Juan, La Union, the story unfolds when a work-obsessed overachiever Kai (Solenn Heussaff) arrives in an Elysian Surf Town to run away from a volatile relationship. Kai hides at Flotsam where she meets Tisoy (Rocco Nacino), a very mysterious local bartender who became her summer fling and perfect antidote to restiveness. It contains about a dozen more characters who are in love – that’s however an approximate figure because some of them fall out of love while others double up or change partners. Each interleaving with the other in a grid of foreshadowing and disquiet.

     The poetic keynote to the film comes from one of the child actors’ examination about that ‘goddamn love’ the adults are talking about, to which Tisoy explained, “Ang love, walang libro diyan… Kailangan subukan.”

     With Flotsam, filmmaker and writer Jay Abello establishes himself as one of the most exciting and distinctive directors around. His new film contains sweeping visual style, while the dialogues deliver a jolt to your consciousness. While most of its mainstream counterparts would go for just gloss and shine, Abello gunned for simple and heartwarming attack.

     Right from the opening credits, Flotsam endears itself with scenic views of La Union – the northern sun, beach, waves, magnificent falls, and of course, chicks in bikinis! The intrepid traveler cum film buffs are granted much more to explore.

     The film also gathers around live music, originally written for the film by Eraserheads guitarist, Surfernando Marcus Adoro, and Flotsam Folk Yeah! Family Band, Mia Sebastian & Kiddo Cosio. The songs were not only sung live, but also recorded real-time in true jamming sessions to reflect the real musicality of the place.

Watch My Big Bossing in Cinemas this December 25!

     Go my bossing, go my big bossing! This song is swirling in my head over and over again. The lyrics is very easy to remember and the beat will make someone stamp his/her feet. It's Christmas season and the most awaited movie of the year will be shown in cinemas 5 days from now. I grew up watching Vic Sotto's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry every year that's why I believe this movie will give joy and laughter to everyone like what the past entries did. I'm sure you've seen spoilers from television this past few days and saw child stars Ryzza Mae Dizon and Alonzo Mulach (son of Nino Mulach) plugging the movie in national television. 

     It's a no brainer that Vic Sotto's movie is for the children and that's what Christmas is all about. Children of all ages, even the adolescents, the mature and the senior citizens are all invited to watch this year's entry by the big bossing himself Vic Sotto. I will just give a little spoiler about the movie because I want everyone to enjoy watching it in cinemas with the whole family.      There are things in life that makes us breathless, simple things that make us move. Despite the obstacles, the aches and pains that we experience, there is someone who will give light to the burden and make us realize that life is worth fighting for.

     I was invited to watch the VIP special screening of You're Not You at SM Megamall Cinema 6 last November 18. At first I thought I'll be watching a chick flick because the title of the movie screams romance in my ears but it's actually a heart moving film about friendships and unconditional love plus awareness of the life threatening disease- ALS. I'll just give a brief information about ALS and a little synopsis of the movie because I want you to watch it in theaters.
