Product Review: Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Ageing Day Moisturizer with SPF 15

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

Hello dearies! Today, I'll be sharing a review of another infamous skincare product that's on my wishlist for quite some time. My mother-in-law made that wish come true when she gave me a bottle of Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Ageing Day Moisturizer with SPF 15 last November when she arrived from Saudi Arabia. This moisturizer was sitting in my stash for four months before I decided to give it a try. I'm still using my favorite organic moisturizer the time I received this product that's why it took months before I started using it.

The first week was oh so good that I cannot stop myself from looking at the mirror peeking at my glowing skin. There's a certain glow that I don't know how to explain. Yes, it's like this product is making my skin look younger and fresher. But after a couple of weeks, something bothered me and made me decide to stop using the product. I can say I have a love-hate relationship with Olay Total Effects and decided to call it quits after two months of usage. If you want to know why click CONTINUE READING and find out.

Product Review: Be Organic Emu Skin Perfecting Cream

Thursday, October 17, 2013

Hello dearies! I'm very excited to share my review today because it's another first :) It's my first organic/natural face cream to date :) I'm a long time user of GNC Vitamin C Moisturizing cream and consumed more than five tubs already. And because I'm slowly incorporating organic products to my body and hair care essentials, I think now is the right time to have one for the face.

Remember my post about my discover of a new brand of organic soap that I've posted months ago? I mused my story there when I first saw the brand Be Organic. Aside from the soaps, this EMU Skin Perfecting cream caught my attention. I asked the SA about this cream and she said that it's a new product from Be Organic and explained to me that it's packed with vitamins and natural skin perfecting ingredients. Sounds very pleasing to the ears and kudos to the SA who knew what she really sells. Back to my story, I was tempted to buy a tub that time but I just brought an exact amount of money that day. So I said to myself that I'll come back for this cream on my next visit to SESOU store whether it's at Trinoma or Robinson's Galleria branch. But this lemming or wish came true when Ms. Cheryl of Be Organic Bath and Body sent me samples of their products. I'm really not expecting that she included a full-sized EMU Skin Perfecting Cream when I received my package. All I know is that she will just send me soaps because it was the only thing that I've mentioned on my previous post about my review on the Papaya Kojic soap. It's very heart warming when you're not expecting to receive products beyond your expectations. Don't get me wrong but I'm really overwhelmed with the products she sent me.

Are you familiar with Emu oil? Have you heard this miraculous product that came from the Emu bird? Click CONTINUE READING to know more information about the benefits and of course about this cream.

Yes, it's the continuation because I've mentioned in my last post (iWhite Korea Whitening Pack) that this is a good moisturizer to use after the peeling. What I like:

  • I love the cooling sensation it gives. It's very relaxing especially this summer season.
  • I love the gel like texture-very easy to apply, the consistency is great for my combination skin.
  • My skin feels velvety smooth and soft to touch.
  • It made my pimple smaller after 2 days of consecutive use, on the 3rd and 4th day it's totally dry.
  • It's very light on my face, even if it's very hot my face doesn't feel sticky because of the moisturizer.

  • It's available in convenient sizes, a full-sized in tube (50g) and in sachet (6g).
  • Easily accessible.

  • None
Will I repurchase? Yes! I'm planning to purchase the whole iWhite Korea Skin Care line

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.75/5 rating. This product does the job in moisturizing my face. I know some individuals with oily and combination skin veered away or tend to skip moisturizers because they think it will make them more oily. If you haven't found your moisturizer then try this water-based formula and I'm sure you'll gonna love this!

Product Review: Dove Intensive Moisturizing Cream

Wednesday, January 04, 2012

Last month, my mom gave me a tub of this moisturizer and I'm very eager to use it because my legs tend to become dry during cold months. I told myself that this product will work wonders with my dry skin because Dove is known as the moisturizing product from their ads and it also claims to be gentle on skin. Many of us have known Dove since our childhood days. I still remember when my relatives abroad brought different variants of Dove soaps and lotions as "pasalubong".
Dove Intensive Moisturizing Cream
Dove Intensive Cream for complete daily skin care
The intensive cream from Dove offfers rich care and a pleasant feel on the skin during and after application. It combines nourishing ingredients and a generous dose of active moisturizer.
Dove Intensive-Cream- for soft and cared for skin. Especially suitable for very dry skin areas.
size: 150ml

price: free

place bought: Saudi Arabia

ingredients: Water, Petrolatum, Praffinum Liquidum, Glyceri, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate, Triethanolamine, Glyceryl Stearate, Cera Microcristallina, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearamide Amp, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Carbomer,Disodium EDTA, Perfume, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Pentaerylthrityl, Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Dilauryl Thiodiproportionate, Alpha- Isomethyl Ionone, Butylphenyl Methylpropional Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclo Hexene Carboxaldehyde, Limonene, Linalool, CI 77891
Dove Intensive Moisturizing Cream
product well sealed with foil
Dove Intensive Moisturizing Cream
texture is creamy and thick

What I like:
  • The tub is cute, actually i like the color of this better than Nivea creams, well-sealed and has manufacturing and expiry date on the side.
  • The smell is not overpowering, smells like Dove soap- white variant.
  • The texture is creamy and thick, a little goes a long way.
  • Has English translation since it came from Middle East.
What I don't like:
  • Unhygienic since it's in a tub.
  • Very moisturizing that it will make your skin oily if you use more than what it is intended.
  • Poor absorption of the product, takes more than 5 minutes in my case.
  • Can be very greasy if applied in the morning.
Will I repurchase? No, I like Glysolid more better than this.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3/5 rating. I think this product suits people with very dry skin. A little amount should be use in dry areas like elbows, knees, heels and hands because the product can get very sticky and greasy. Use a spatula when scooping out the product from the tub to avoid contamination.

Do you use moisturizing products like Dove on dry skin? What other products can you recommend?

Good Times!~

Product Review: Glysolid Glycerin Cream

Thursday, December 22, 2011

Hi everyone! I've been very busy this week buying gifts for my relatives and looking for new stuff for my son. I know I have long due posts and product reviews waiting to be published and this holiday rush is stressing me out. I really freaked out when I go outside and the weather is scourging  hot. Our humid weather made me dizzy and nauseous whenever I ride public transportation but I have no choice since malls and tiangges opens in the morning and will be super crowded in the afternoon until closing time in the evening. This shopping thing made me wear very comfy clothes and foot wear. I just wear flip-flops and walked more than four to five hours looking for gifts and new stuffs. To cut the story short, walking with flip-flops on a hot afternoon gave me cracked heels. It's really painful but I know there will be an easy way to make them heal fast!

Introducing Glysolid Glycerin Cream- Smoothes, Softens and Protects!
