Product Review: Soft White Body Scrub Lulur Mandi in Bengkoang

Saturday, July 21, 2012

Hi! I'm back (hopefully) to normal programming :D I want to make a review or an update here everyday maybe 2 to 3 post, whatchatink? Hehehe! But I can't promise you that because I still have mommy duties and my son always watch Cars toy reviews on you tube. If I have all the time in my hands, I will really make more reviews daily. I hope I can maintain one post everyday so that I can still have time commenting on other blogs that I follow. Sometimes, watermarking pictures and editing post takes all of my time and then I left my post unpublished. So on to the review. If you read my post about the allergies that's very annoying and itchy, you will see on the last part of that post this Soft White scrub. My sister gave it to me to test if it's on par with Asian Secrets that I really love. When my allergy has subside, I decided to use the scrub every other day to see the maximum result. I know one tub is not enough compared to nth tubs of Asian Secrets that I emptied but still I saw a bit of difference.

What I also like bout this scrub is the Olive oil because of it's moisturizing properties. I'm a fan of whitening soaps that leaves my skin dry so I need the help of moisturizers. The only downside of this product is it's contents. If you already tried Asian Secrets, you will surely notice upon opening the tub is the heaping scrub. With Soft White, the scrub is only 3/4 of the tub. Now here's my take on Soft White body scrub.
Soft White Body Scrub Lulur Mandi in Bengkoang
SoftWhite Body Scrub with Yam Bean Extract+ Olive Oil for clean and bright skin.
Makes your skin smooth, clean and bright. With natural ingredients to revitalize your skin. The soft scrubs removes dead skin cells and stimulate skin regeneration. The foaming lather rinses completely and great for daily use to provide smooth, soft and radiant skin.

Soft White Body Scrub Lulur Mandi in Bengkoang
The color and texture is the same as Asian Secrets and Purbasari
but SoftWhite has nude beads for this variant.
(I already use this once before taking the picture)
Soft White Body Scrub Lulur Mandi in Bengkoang
After 3 uses, I emptied the tube in less than a week.

What I like:
  • The price! I know this is same as the small tub of Asian Secrets and Purbasari.
  • Exfoliates really well, I think it's because of the  beads.
  • Has Olive oil that is known for its moisturizing properties.
  • It somehow helped my allergy marks lighten a bit.
  • The scent is okay, a bit comparable to baby powder.
  • Manufacturing, batch and expiry date printed on the tub.
  • Sealed upon opening.
  • Makes my skin smooth and glowing.
What I don't like:
  • The contents, it's not full like Asian Secrets so I emptied the whole tub after 4 uses. I use it  every other day.
Will I repurchase? Yes! It's a great substitute for Asian Secrets Mulberry and Licorice (violet) that's always OOS!

Recommendation:
I give this a 4/5 rating. This scrub will be my alternative if Asian Secrets is OOS again. To avoid contamination use a spatula in scooping out the product. For maximum results you can leave it on your skin for 5-10 mins and as instructed use it everyday. I had a review of SoftWhite  Pink Variant before and I just use that twice a week. With this variant, I wanted to see faster results that's why I brave myself to use it every other day even if my skin is a bit sensitive because of the allergy.

Have you experience lulur scrubs before?Share your thoughts. Stay safe everyone!

Hello lovelies, how are you? Don't forget to join my 100th Follower Giveaway. I will just make a quick post. I'm still experiencing this freaky skin allergy/insect bites thing-y for days now. I don't know what to do! I've taken lots of anti-histamine and applied anti-itch creams and ointment but none seems to work. The last option I think I need to do before things get worse is consult a doctor. This thing is really freaking me out. It's like my worst nightmare. I can't sleep and my mind seems empty. My concentration level is down and I get irritated most of the time. I hope this thing will just go away without a mark. I'm afraid that I scratched some part of my body unconsciously and this will lead to scarring. Gaaah! But before ending this post, I will just share what I received last week. I won from another giveaway and this time it's from a fashion blog. I soooo lurve these stuffs and thinking of doing another outfit post soon.

Product Review: Asian Secrets Bengkoang Soap with Olive Oil

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Hi dearies! How's your day?Mine's a bit stressful because my son is sick. It sucks big time when you see and feel that your loved one is in pain. My son's fever is on and off that's why I need to watch him even when he sleeps. I hope he'll get well soon.

Anyhoo, I will review today another product from Asian Secrets, its the Bengkoang Soap with Olive Oil variant. If you're a follower of my blog, I'm sure you know that I love organic soaps. Organic soaps form All Organics are staples in my skin care regimen. I've been using organic soaps more than a year now that's why I'm a bit hesitant to try other soaps because I know it can cause different kinds of reaction. I've learned that once you've found your HG you must stick to it but the curiosity in me strikes back and telling me to try this soap because of the Bengkoang, same as the Singkamas soap from All Organics that I'm also using and made a review here.

Asian Secrets Bengkoang Indonesian Whitening Soap contains Bengkoang (Yam Bean Extract), a widely popular whitening ingredient in Indonesia that can be found in the islands of Sumatra and Java. It also contains Olive Oil to moisturize skin and protect it from dryness.

size: 100g

price: 70 php (Around $1.60)

place bought: Watson's Health and Beauty Store, Sm Fairview

instructions for use: Use soap to wash face and body. For maximum effect use it everyday.

ingredients: Oleamidoproryl Betaine, Tallow, Stearic Acid, Fragrance, Pachyrrhizus erosus (Yam Bean) Root Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Tetrasodium EDTA.

What I like:
  • I think the shape of the soap is unique.
  • Affordable for a 100g soap.
  • The soap is firm and doesn't melt easily.
  • It leaves my skin smooth and moisturized.
  • Manufacturing, batch and expiry date is printed on the box.
What I don't like:
  • I'm not a fan of the scent- reminds me of Irish Spring soaps that has a bit of masculine scent.
  • Haven't seen any whitening or lightening on blemishes that I have.
Will I repurchase? No, I just tried it out of curiosity and because of the raves that Asian Secrets Lulur scrub had.

Recommendation:
I give this a 3.75/5 rating. It does the job well in cleansing without drying your skin. It doesn't melt easily so i think it's a plus factor for those who are on a budget. But again the scent for me is a bit strange. I like fruity and citrus-y scented soaps.

Have you tried Asian Secrets' Soaps? What variant do you prefer? Thanks for sharing!

Product Review: All Organics Bath Soap- Singkamas ( turnip)

Tuesday, October 04, 2011

All Organics Bath Soap- Singkamas ( turnip)
Hi everyone! How's your day? I'm going to do another review on organic bath soap and this time it's Singkamas (turnip).

What is SIngkamas (turnip) according to tagaloglang.com
the white flesh of Singkamas is juicy and crunchy. In the Philippines, it is eaten with rock salt.
Singkamas (turnip)

All Organics Bath Soap- Singkamas (Turnip)
This soap gently lightens skin and helps regenerate damaged skin tissues.
All Organics Bath Soap- Singkamas ( turnip)
the soap has a brownish color on top of it
size: 100g

price: 70 php ( Around $1.50 )

place bought: Sesou Nature Source, TriNoma Quezon City
Herbal Garden Quezon City Circle ( In front of Philippine Coconut Authority )
                   All organics online

instructions for use: Use as bath soap for face and body

ingredients: Saponified Virgin Coconut Oil, Singkamas (turnip) Extract, Manila Elemi Oil

What I like:
  • Skin feels smooth after use.
  • Has a very mild scent like that of Perla soap but not overpowering.
  • After using 3 bars of this soap I noticed a lightening on my scar.
  • Manufacturing date, Batch number and Expiration date is seen on the label so I know I get it fresh from the manufacturer.
All Organics Bath Soap- Singkamas ( turnip)
I always cut the soap into half so that it will not melt easily

What I don’t like:
  • None
Will I repurchase? Yes!

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.5/5 rating. I recommend this to anyone who wants to try organic soap and will feel comfortable of lathering singkamas in their face and bodies. If you’re a sucker for anything whitening, you can give this soap a try. Cut the soap into half so it will not melt easily because it does not contain any soap hardener. Since I’m using this soap for only 2 months, I can’t truly say that it lightened my body. If you don’t like the scent of Perla soap, the one used as detergent bar you can skip on this. Always remember that natural products can cause allergic reaction so discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Till my next post.  Thanks for reading!

Good Times!~
