Robinsons Selections McKinley Hill Now Open

     My favorite go-to supermarket opened another branch of Robinsons Selections store in McKinley Hill, Taguig City last November 27, 2015 in response to the growing shopping sophistication among consumers. I wasn't not able to attend the launch but based on the photos that I saw, this second Robinsons Selections boasts three unique sections that I'm sure will make your grocery shopping more exciting and convenient. 

     Robinsons Supermarket President & COO Robina Gokongwei-Pe, General Manager Jody Gadia, and Megaworld First Vice President and Commercial Division Head Kevin Tan led the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official launch of the new premium grocery store.

     Robinsons Selections is bringing to the McKinley Hill community the same state-of-theart design and top-of-the-line offerings as its predecessor, which opened last year in Eight Forbes, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City. With a larger area of 2,481 square meters, the new store will feature a bigger food-to-go section with carefully curated gourmet goods for those with discerning palates.

Robinsons Supermarket 30th Anniversary Celebration

     First of all I want to say congratulations to Robinsons Supermarket for your successful and fruitful 30 years. Robinsons Supermarket is our go-to grocery shopping destination for more than two years now because of the convenience and eureka moment it brings every time we visit their branch here in Novaliches. This is my highly recommended supermarket to date for your everyday essential needs. From head to toe, breakfast to dinner, everything that your household needs, name it and they have it. I also like the fact that shopping inside Robinsons Supermarket gives convenience to budget conscious shoppers as they have promo and bundled items section. They make budgeting easy because they're selling their products per piece like for example their coffee in sachet. Since I love drinking coffee, there are times I find it hard to stick to one brand. So what I do every time I shop for coffee, I buy sachets of different brands. 

     Robinsons Supermarket opened its first branch at Cebu Fuente in 1985 and since then grew to 116 stores nationwide. More stores are expected to open within the year.      Robinsons Supermarket kickstarts its “30 Fresh Years” milestone celebration by launching a new health and wellness section format for Robinsons Supermarket Pioneer, sponsored by one of its trusted partners, Nestle Philippines. Sponsored booths directed towards good health were also made available for guests.

1. Starting this August throughout September, Robinsons Supermarket will hold the Family Fun Fair promo in all stores wherein health and wellness and other exciting booths await consumers, packed with gifts and prizes.

     There are five booths that will test your speed, memory, sense of touch, and the combination of these three. The tasks are very easy. Upon completing the tasks, you will receive special prizes. I dare you try these five fun-filled activities. The first booth is called "Heart on the Move".

     After testing your speed, there's a booth called "Box Your Mind". This is a memory game booth. 

 All you have to do is arrange the items in order that you see in the picture.

      Another booth is called "Dare to Touch". You need to guess what's inside the box after touching them. The clues will be given so don't worry, there's no harmful objects inside :)

      This booth is fun and exciting. It's called "Discover Wellness". All you have to do is spell the sentence I LOVE WELLNESS. Look how fun this game, we actually enjoyed it!

      Last booth is called "Love Your Home". Basically, this is a fold-the-shirt kind of game. I wasn't able to take a photo while one of the bloggers in our group do the folding thing to show you how we played the game.

2. The Family Fun Fair mall events will be held in Robinsons Place Manila from August 28-30, Robinsons Place Malolos from September 4-6, and Robinsons Place Dumaguete from September 18-20.

3. Meanwhile, Robinsons Rewards Card members get double the fun as they are entitled to amazing rewards and bonuses for the whole month of September. A special one day Thank You Day caravan will also start rolling come September, exclusive for members.

     One of the things that I truly miss is going on a travel. I'm not a travel junkie but when opportunity knocks and the gods are in my favor, I will plan the trip right away. Planning a trip is not easy. There are so many things to consider like the location, expenses, and the essential things to pack. These things consist of travel essentials that you will bring in your trip like food, water, containers, skin care, and other products that will make the travel a memorable one. I have great news, my default and go-to supermarket Robinsons Supermarket wants to share with you their list of travel essential goodies that I'm sure will make your travel fuss-free

     This quarter, Robinsons Selections’ theme “Pick-up and Pack-up” is dedicated to the born traveler who is always up for an adventure. Those who are hardwired to travel can be struck by the urge to pack and go at any given time. Robinsons Selections is the convenient modern store for all travel essentials to ensure a seamlessly fun trip. It has a wide selection of grab-and-go items and healthy food offerings that are perfect for packing.

Here is a list of fundamental items that should go in the travel bag for a guaranteed awesome trip:

1. Portable and nutrition-packed food

     If one is to go camping, it is best to bring items that require less cooking and can be-eaten hot or cold. This brings into picture Arrowhead’s flaxseed and quinoa that are both rich sources of dietary fiber and protein

2. Fundamental liquids

     Water is basic necessity and potable drinking water might not always be available when travelling. Always carry bottles of drinking water like B’lue Water in Orange and Lychee for a little twist to your regular water.

     Another option is to pack healthy drinks in carton boxes such as Tipco’s Broccoli and Pomegranate fresh juices. It doesn’t require refrigeration unless opened and it’s easy to dispose after.

3. Canned goods

     Canned goods have always been every traveler’s trusted companion. It is a meal in a can that’s easy to pack and doesn’t take up too much space. Palm corned beef is highly recommended and it comes in three delightful variants: garlic, onion and bbq.

4. Raw cheese slices

     Although cheese may not be considered exactly necessary, but adding dairy to your diet is actually healthy too. Transform simple packed sandwiches into something special by slipping in a hefty slice of cheese. Choose Kraft processed cheese for a creamy twist.

5. Fruits

     Maintain access to important vitamins and minerals by packing produce that doesn’t easily bruise like Alfa’s Fuji apples and Australian Crimson grapes. But with all the stuffing of items in the bag the possibility of the produce turning into mush is nigh, which brings us to another important item.

6. Containers

     Season travelers know the value of hard-sided containers. Use Saw Glass Foodkeeper with locks and Boseal Round Glass Heat to protect packed produce and other things. It is wise to invest in leak-proof containers such as these, as they are convenient and efficient. For water bottle, Lock n' Lock is your best bet. It's BPA Free and easy to clean and use plus it comes in different colors too!

7. Sanitizers

     Hygiene standards vary among destinations. Nevertheless, it is recommended to frequently wash hands to prevent illnesses. For a quick clean on the go get Cleene alcohol or hand sanitizers such as that of Human Nature’s, which comes in Citrus and Floral scents.

8. Insect repellent

     Insect repellent is an absolute necessity especially when travelling to places where mosquitoes and other insects are known to transmit diseases. Take refuge in Human Nature’s insect repellant and lotion bug shield. This is my favorite insect repellent and I highly recommend this brand. Bought more than five bottles and I can truly attest to its effectiveness.

9. Skin regimen basics

     Staying pretty and pleasant throughout a trip should not be underrated. Maintain your daily skin regimen with the Olay Regenerist Serum and Total Effects available in travel-sizes. Keep your skin looking in top-shape with the Pond’s Flawless White BB cream and Vaseline lotion with SPF30.

10. Emergency snacks

     Being mobile opens up to the possibility of long travel periods with no allowance for stopovers, in this case emergency munchies at hand would be very helpful. For sweet fixes, chew on a flavorful bunch of Skittles. It is also wise to bring a box of gingerbread cookies like Anna’s Original Cappuccino and Ginger thins if looking for a bite with a crisp. This one is the new great alternative to your favorite ginger bread cookies, promise!
