Feature: Revlon ColorStay Makeup Line

Wednesday, February 12, 2020

Last December, I received a box full of makeup goodies from Revlon Philippines. They sent me a goodie box of their best-selling lines-ColorStay. This makeup-loving heart almost got a heart attack upon opening the box, hahaha! Kidding aside, the super generous brand sent bottles and tubes- not one but almost all their face products in different shades of their so-called Life Proof line.

Revlon ColorStay features long-wearing, transfer-proof, smudge-proof, and life-proof. Impeccable, won’t-rub-off makeup that stays in place no matter what comes your way. The ColorStay products that I received promises to give the coverage I need and will stay put as long as I need them too. Since summertime is just around the corner, these Revlon ColorStay face makeup products got me covered! Scroll down to see more photos and swatches of the promising line.

SM World of Beauty

Tuesday, June 13, 2017

I was in high school, I often hear my mom talking to my titas who live abroad about makeup brands that are not available locally. Two of my aunts work at Macy's that's why if there's a new shade of lipstick from my mom's favorite brand, she will just tell it to them but it will take a year before the balikbayan boxes will arrive at our doorsteps.

To cut a long story short, it's hard to buy makeup from brands that are exclusively available abroad but now, hoarding buying is a breeze because all the coveted brands from different parts of the world are exclusively available at SM World of Beauty! Let me share with you some of my fave brands from around the world below :)

Watsons' Color Your Hair Bold Launch

Monday, May 23, 2016

I've been coloring my hair to make it lighter for more than three years now. I'm a fan of Do-It-Yourself hair coloring products and I find it easy, safe (because I make it sure to follow the instructions written on the box packaging) and life saver especially in times of bad hair days. I also go to salons if I want to achieve a bolder color with the help of a professional stylist but there were times that I don't have the budget for it or I'm too busy because of mommy and daughter duties at home.

Are you itching to color your hair bold but contemplating because of limited resources? Watsons recently launched their "Color Your Hair Bold" initiative and wants to ease these worries of women by highlighting that hair coloring is not only fun, it is also safe, affordable and easy that everyone can do it at home, Now is the perfect time to spruce up your hair because bold colored hair is in! Female Network Beauty Con Highlights

Tuesday, December 08, 2015

FUN FACT: Before I became a beauty blogger, I'm a lurker on online forums. I burn the midnight oil not to study but to read all the exchange of comments on topics like skin care, makeup, health, fitness, diet, and exercise. I guess, this daily habit of mine some five years ago was one of the factors why I became a beauty blogger.

I'm proud to say that I'm a girltaker! Who here loves visiting online forums and joining the discussion? I presume that if you're like me who likes researching first before buying beauty products, you've gone to one of the famous online forum sites that had helped and inspired hundreds of women online- Female Network! I was very privilege to be invited by Summit Media to Female Network Beauty Con last November 15 at Robinsons Magnolia. Highlights of the event below :)

For the talk, I attended talks two and three respectively. Even though I already know how to take good care of my hair, I'm still surprised when I discovered that conditioners should not be left for too long in our hair. I'm guilty of doing this especially when I feel that my hair needs conditioning after using a lot of styling products.

After the hair care talk, I enjoyed listening to my co-beauty blogger Shari Macainag of themistymom.com :) I'm a follower of Shari and I'm happy that she was one of the speakers during the event. She shared her early years in beauty blogging and what are the basics if you wanna start your own beauty blog. If you think beauty blogging is easy, well it's not. I'm not discouraging you to start your own blog but you have to have that burning passion in order to maintain a beauty blog. From writing, to taking photos, to sharing your posts in social media networks, to interaction with your blog readers, answering emails and so on and so forth. It takes time, commitment, and yes heaps of patience and the magic word passion to enjoy beauty blogging and other niche of blogging as well.

Product Review: Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel- Photos and Swatches

Friday, January 16, 2015

Hello dearies! If you're a long time reader of this blog, I presume you already know that I'm a stay-at-home-mom, I do household chores that's why I wash my hands more than 10 times a day. With that said, my manicure doesn't lasts long. Even if I use a premium nail polish, the edges tend to chip the next day.

I've tried gel nail polish thrice and it lasted for 5 days to a week. For a hands-on mom like me, gel nail polish is prolly the best bet for long-lasting manicure. There are 2 things why sometimes I veered away from gel nail polish aside from weekly trips to nail salon. First, the price of the service is a bit steep for a budget conscious individual like me. Lastly, if the gel polish started to chip, I need to go back to the salon and avail the gel polish removal service or I'll let my nails grow and get an uneven polish at the bottom part of my finger nails (lunula).

I think the solution to my so called roller coaster nail polish love affair came to life when Revlon Philippines sent me their Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel. The word 'gel envy' is intriguing. Be the judge and see if this nail polish collection from Revlon fits the bill. Click CONTINUE READING to see photos and swatches of these 8 pretty shades.

Product Review: Revlon Bold Lacquer Waterproof Length and Volume Mascara

Saturday, November 08, 2014

Because I have thin and sparse lashes, I'm always on the look  for an affordable and stay-true-to-its-promise mascara. I've tried a couple of mascaras before and only a few exceeded my expectations. It's hard to find a perfect mascara because sometimes the name can be misleading.

Lengthening, volumizing, false lashes effect, and so on and so forth sound nice right? But I'm not that 100% sure if those I mentioned above will really be seen in my almost none existent lashes. Revlon Philippines sent me one of their mascara and it was released last September this year. Revlon Bold Lacquer by Grow Luscious Length and Volume mascara looks promising, who doesn't want luscious lashes right? Can this be a new addition to my list of HG mascaras? Click CONTINUE READING to know more about the product.

Product Review: Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Hello dearies! The long wait is finally over, here are the swatches and my thoughts on Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain lipstick/lipstain. I received a couple of emails regarding the swatches of this lipstain that was sent to me by Revlon Philippines. When these landed on our doorsteps, I immediately tested the lightest color which is LA Exclusive. It's a bubblegum pink shade that compliments my skin tone.

To give you a brief information about the product, these lip stains are ultra-light and creamy, gives a nice glossy finish and leaves a pretty stain on the lips. I actually like these lip stains and been wearing the three shades alternately almost everyday. To know more about the product and the swatches, click CONTINUE READING

Help Me Choose, Pretty Please?

Friday, November 04, 2011

My mother-in-law is going home for a vacation from Saudi Arabia this month. She is a chief nurse in a government hospital there and every time she goes for a vacation here, she always asks me for a "pasalubong" that I want. She already gave me different perfumes and jewelry. This time, I wanted something different. Since I'm just a few swipes away on hitting the pan of my MAC Studio fix powder foundation, I realized that this will be my chance to have a new one. But I'm confused because I have read good reviews on other powder foundations like Kanebo, Revlon, and Shiseido.

I told my husband that it would be a lot cheaper to buy one of these at Duty-Free Fiesta Mall. I'm still undecided what powder foundation to buy. By the way, I'm just using this on special occasions or having a girls night out. I'm a plain housewife and I seldom go outside the house.

My dear readers, please help me choose and decide. I know it's a trial and error when it comes to finding the right powder foundation. Your suggestions and comments are highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Good Times!~
