Kids these days are so into gadgets. I presume that kids of this generation would love to receive a new iPad, mobile phone, game console, or accessories that they will use in the gadgets that they already have. We cannot blame technology if our kids will choose these over stuff toys and other playset but we can control the pros and cons a gadget brings.

My son, Kenzo loves to watch YouTube videos. He's into race cars and musical instruments. He's into music as his dad while he also loves to play games like momma. On a long road trip, I know he needs a headphone that delivers remarkable sound so he can still enjoy the trip while watching videos or listening to music. Enter JBL Jr.- brightly colored wired and wireless lightweight headphones that let kids enjoy music, movies and more while providing the promise of safety and durability.

I've been to KidZania thrice and the feeling is always awesome. I also get to learn while waiting for Kenzo outside the play area. There were times that I want to join the misters and misses in the role play activity because it's really fun and exciting inside the rooms.

OOTD: White Walls

Saturday, April 23, 2016

If you're a fan of the movie- Cars, prolly you're thinking that the title of this post will showcase those white walls! Cars movie fanatics surely have an idea that I'm talking about white wall tires. Well, this is Kenzo's second outfit of the day (OOTD) post for this year and I'm excited to share the outfit details below.

But first, the title of the post is somewhat connected with the word 'white', not the white wall tires that was mentioned in the movie (the scene of McQueen, Luigi, and Guido) because it's more of the color of Kenzo's outfit. Since white sneakers are sooo in, let me share with you his white kicks and why I chose the style and the brand after the jump :)
OOTD: White Walls
So here's a short story about the brand and style of Kenzo's white sneakers. By the way, the hubby and I still believe in the saying "old school is cool" that's why we have chosen K-Swiss. If you're a 90's baby, I'm sure that you have heard of the brand before. We saw this white sneakers on display at Rookie USA Fairview Terraces and I fell in love with it immediately.
OOTD: White Walls
Top- Converse

Bottom- Uniqlo Easy Pants

Shoes- K-Swiss Hoke Strap Sneakers

Socks- OshKosh B'gosh

I asked hubby's opinion first before buying this sneakers. And because he's a fan of classic and simple style sneakers, we agreed to buy the sneakers for Kenzo's P.E. shoes this coming school year but because it's simply stylish, Kenzo's been abusing the shoes already. Hahaha!
OOTD: White Walls
K-Swiss Hoke Strap White
Okay, so much for the shoes! We also bought this white Converse shirt at Rookie USA because it's on sale. For every cash payment transaction, buyers can score Converse and Levi's shirt for only Php 200. The original price of this shirt is Php 600+. What a steal!!! I'm not sure if the promo still applies until today though :(
OOTD: White Walls
Last look how white this K-Swiss Hoke Strap sneakers because it looks different right now. Not that white white since Kenzo wears this more than twice a week. It's a bit hard to maintain white sneakers especially if an active kid wears it. Expect that it will get dirty every now and then.
OOTD: White Walls
More than the maintenance of white sneakers, I'm happy that I've chosen this classic style. Simple yet stylish and wearable. Hope that Kenzo's feet will grow a little slower than the average rate. I want him to really enjoy wearing this sneakers because it's easy to style and yes, it's comfy too. This is Kenzo's outfit of the day (OOTD) when we visited KidZania Manila weeks ago and witnessed the launch of National Art and Design Academy.

Until here mommies, let me know what you think of Kenzo's White Walls OOTD :)

Monday, April 18, 2016

The happiest place in the metro (for me and Kenzo) as of the moment- KidZania Manila recently inaugurated a booth where kids can do big things in the world of art and design. Kenzo is a budding artist that's why during the event, he truly enjoyed his experience at KidZania Manila's National Art and Design Academy.

The misters and misses that day saw a new and colorful light with the opening of the National Art and Design Academy. This successful partnership of National Bookstore and Dong-A made us more excited to visit KidZania Manila! The play city now has maestros who'll be creating wonderful masterpieces. Kids who love to draw and paint can now express themselves artistically inside the booth. Highlights of the launch below :)

After the presentation of guests, Kenzo joined the live activity demonstration. He experienced that day what kids can do inside the academy. Kenzo was giddy to get hold of the paint brushes so he chose to do the stained glass wall painting activity. To make the experience more memorable and of course inspiring, one of the guest artists joined and taught him some techniques while painting the glass.

Bantay Bata kids at KidZania Manila

Sunday, February 07, 2016

I salute kids who know how to give back at an early age. My father taught me to help less fortunate individuals when I was growing up and I'm happy because he instilled in us the value of giving. I want Kenzo to learn this value because it's always better to give than to receive. With this in mind, I have great news to all the families who love KidZania!

The kids of ABS-CBN Foundation’s Bantay Bata program enjoyed exploring KidZania Manila and its various role-playing activities, through the kindness of their fellow children who supported the KidZania Para sa Bantay Bata initiative. By purchasing star-shaped capiz ornaments, the play city’s misters and misses were able to raise more than P174,000, sending more than 160 underprivileged children to discover their dream careers at the mini metropolis. Visiting KidZania Manila and role-playing various careers was an unforgettable experience for the Bantay Bata kids. More details about The KidZania para sa Bantay Bata program below :)

The kids enjoyed working as chefs for a day, and making their own cheeseburgers and macaroni salads. They also learned the ins and outs of putting a newspaper and a TV show together, the value of caring for trees, and the importance of working together to save lives as doctors and firefighters. “It was an inspiring experience, as the kids gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of what adults do and how society functions,” added Evan.

“One of the most important values we always aim to teach kids is to care and share whatever blessings they have with others,” said Maricel Pangilinan-Arenas, State Governor of KidZania Manila. “It just goes to show that each of us can do something—no effort is too big or too small—to make the holidays bright for others, especially kids who are in need.”

Paskong Kai Saya sa KidZania Manila

Wednesday, December 23, 2015

Pasko! Pasko! Pasko na namang muli. Tanging araw na ating pinakamimithi. Pasko! Pasko! Pasko na namang muli. Ang pag-ibig naghahari! It's Christmas already dearies! The Filipino Christmas tradition fills the air. The nine chilly mornings that come with each simbang gabi, the delightful smell and taste of puto bumbong andbibingka treats, the joyous singing of carols, the light that the iconic parol brings, and the warmth of sharing each moment with family and friends over Noche Buena—these are some traditions that make up the unique qualities of a Filipino Christmas.

This holiday season, KidZania Manila is rekindling the magical experience that only a Filipino Christmas can bring with Paskong Kai Saya sa KidZania Manila. Homegrown traditions come alive right at the heart of the play city, enchanting children, and their families and friends.
Paskong Kai Saya sa KidZania Manila
KidZania Manila is celebrating Paskong Kai Saya with a 15-foot Christmas tree at the play city’s main square where famillies can have their pictures taken.
Igniting the spirit of Paskong Kai Saya is a Christmas tree standing in the middle of the main square, accented with capiz ornaments, and topped with a classic Filipino parol. It also serves as a festive backdrop for group photos. Misters and misses can even spread the love and share their positive Christmas messages to others by completing the sentence “Ang Pasko ay Kai Saya dahil…” on the message board near the Christmas tree. To commemorate the moment, developed pictures can be purchased at the PikZ station after the session.

Adding to the merry atmosphere is a vintage ice cream cart from Magnolia, manned by friendly Mamang Sorbetero. Even Zupervisors, all ready to guide Christmas activity participants, sport the traditional Filipino garb of red scarves and distinctly local straw hats.

Saturday, November 21, 2015

Kenzo really enjoyed his stay at KidZania months ago. If time permits, we will stay there the whole day. There are so many things to do in KidZania, your kid's precious play time will be well spent if you know how to maximize your time during your visit. It's the most visited play city in Manila today, I've heard that you need to book ahead to reserve a slot. I promised Kenzo that we will go back to KidZania with his cousins. But for now, here are the tips to make the most out of your child's KidZania Manila experience.

Kids looking for an awesome experience that lets them learn while having fun can head to KidZania Manila—the only interactive play city where kids can explore, discover, and learn how the real world works.

Built to scale for children, KidZania Manila has more than 70 establishments and features over 100 role-playing activities that kids aged four to 14 years can enjoy. These fun and immersive career activities have been designed to be developmentally appropriate for their age group.

The play city has a wide range of activities to choose from, you’ll find a handy guide below on how kids can maximize the fun and have the best learning experience at KidZania Manila

Upon arrival at KidZania Manila, kids are given a boarding pass and check for 50 kidZos. Once inside the play city, they can head over to the Bank to encash their check into KidZos—the official currency in KidZania. Here’s a not-so-secret tip: they can conveniently open a bank account with a minimum deposit of 20 kidZos—just make sure to check the schedule for the opening of accounts at the Bank. After opening an account, kids get their own personalized ATM card that they can use in the ATMs all around the play city.

Now, it’s time for them to choose where they want to go. Kids can check each establishment’s Census Plaque to help them determine which activity they can participate in. Reading these plaques is especially helpful because they indicate the age requirement and duration period of the activity, as well as how many visitors can join and whether the activity will require earning or spending kidZos.

KidZania Manila also has an Employment Office which helps kids determine their preferred immersive activity. Here, visitors find out which jobs are best suited for them, giving them a better idea on which establishments to go to.

Once they decide which job to take, kids can easily find the establishment using an app on a mobile phone which they can rent at the ABS-CBN Mobile shop.

Earning kidZos

Just like in the real world, kids can get a bachelor’s or master’s degree in various fields at the Centro Escolar University. They can sign up for any—or all!—of the four degrees at the University: Humanities and the Arts, Engineering and Architecture, Health Sciences, and Business Administration. This allows them to earn more or pay less kidZos in the professions related to the fields they have studied.

Kenzo wanted to join the activity in all the establishments but we wasn't not able to maximize our time since we arrived an hour later and it's Saturday.
Fans and frequent visitors can even become citiZens of KidZania Manila through the B-KidZanian loyalty program. They can apply for their very own PaZZport at the PaZZport Office and earn stamps every time they role-play a career. The more activities kids complete, the more benefits they'll earn and the more fun they'll have on their very next visit.

Bring home the KidZania experience

If kids want to bring home a souvenir or two, the National Store is the place to go to. With two locations—one near PikZ station and the other just by the exit—they will surely find toys and collectibles that capture the fun they had at KidZania Manila. The National Store accepts payments in Philippine pesos, a foreign currency in the play city.

Another important stop for kids and their parents alike is the PikZ Station, where they can get photos of the misters and misses’ unforgettable and precious on-the-job moments at the play city.

Z-U next time!

After a fun and eventful day of “work” and play, kids can make a beeline for the Immigration Office, located between the Mobile Shop and the National Store. This is where security bracelets are removed and guests make their exit.

Our last stop was the city tour bus. We enjoyed our tour before going home. Kenzo also bought something from his hard earned KidZos that day at the souvenir shop
At KidZania Manila, kids can enjoy a fun learning experience that sparks their imagination, ignites their minds, nurtures creativity, and inspires real-world exploration. And with these tips, children can do even bigger things and make the most out of their role-playing experience. Bring your kids at KidZania, I swear that your trip will be oh so worth it! I'll make another blog post on Kenzo's experience at KidZania soon!:)
