Feature: Legoland Malaysia Water Park- Activities, Rates, Tips

Friday, August 09, 2019

I believe that traveling is important because it gives a once in a lifetime experience seeing the beauty of the country or the place that you'll visit. It's also the time where you'll get to spend time with your family and have that so-called 'me-time' while creating memories for a lifetime. This is one of the many reasons why I work hard and save a lot in order for me to treat my family for an annual out of the country vacation.

In our second year, we decided to celebrate my son's 10th birthday in Legoland Malaysia. We had our 4-day vacation last June 11-14, 2019. It was a Singapore-Malaysia trip because based on my research, the fastest way to reach Legoland Malaysia is to travel by train or bus from Singapore. I will muse more about this awesome experience after the jump!

Legoland is Malaysia's 1st International Themepark. It is also called LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort because it boasts more than 70 hands-on rides, slides, shows and attractions for families and children of all ages. Legoland Malaysia has two-main parks and one of them is Legoland Water Park. So if you're in for an "aqua-tastic" and splashing wet fun, be sure to book a one day pass at the water park.

Legoland Malaysia Water Park Experience

It was June 12 when we arrived in Johor Bahru, Malaysia from Singapore. Travel time was approximately an hour and a half ride from Lavender MRT Station (where we waited for the bus) via Superior Tour that I booked online. I will share more of our experience on a separate post on how to go to Legoland Malaysia from Singapore. Anyhoo, day 1 of our Legoland Malaysia Resort will be on the water park alone. I bought two-day unlimited pass tickets for day 1- waterpark and day 2- theme park. Legoland offers different combo tickets depending on your chosen activities so be sure to buy those if you're planning to stay longer in Legoland Malaysia. Discounted rates are offered for child and senior visitors. Don't forget to check those :)

After checking in at Legoland Hotel, we had decided to have a quick lunch at KFC located in Medini Mall- the nearest mall with different fast-food chains and restaurants to serve hungry tummies who are visiting Legoland Malaysia. It's around 2 p.m. and time to enjoy the rest of the afternoon at the waterpark but before that, we went back to the hotel and changed to our swimwear. If Legoland Water Park is in your itinerary, I advise you to bring a rash guard for swimming and sunscreen because the weather in Malaysia is like ours- hot and humid.

Time to explore the water park! The boys went there first and checked different attractions inside like the Lego Wave Pool, Build-A-Raft lazy river, different slides, and interactive play structures like Build-A-Boat, DUPLO Splash Safari, Imagination Station and Joker Soaker. We all enjoyed floating along the Build-A-Raft lazy river while Kenzo and Moi climb and slide down the multiple levels and slides at the Joker Soaker until closing time. Hahaha!

DUPLO Splash Safari

When the little ones are keen to take to the water, it is time to let them make a splash at DUPLO inspired water playground with slides designed for the young, plus interactive DUPLO creatures to keep them entertained.

Build-A-Raft

Do your kid and the kid at heart in you want to play and build colorful Lego brick while swimming? It's possible at Build-A-Raft station. I think we spent almost 3 hours here because we all enjoyed swimming while riding different size of tubes to float and relax amidst LEGO models, flowers and palm trees.

Imagination Station

Need to take a little rest after having so much fun in the water? Ready your imagination and visit this station for some interactive and educational activities. Creativity comes alive through building bridges, dams, and cities out of DUPLO bricks, and water squirts that create a symphony of sounds.

Joker Soaker

I can say that this one of our favorite stations inside the water park. It is a water-based playground that is located in the middle of the park. There are different interactive play areas on multiple levels and slides for a non-stop adventure. We had fun at the multilevel slides. There's a giant splash from the 300-gallon bucket that spills with a gush to soak everyone!

Lego Wave Pool

Kenzo and moi were able to swim in the Lego Wave Pool for quite a while. The waves are like that of the sea. The water here is above my shoulder (I'm 5'4 for reference) so little kids are advised to wear a life vest for safety. Don't you worry, lifeguards are doing their job, they are posted in every corner of this pool.

Legoland Malaysia Water Park

Legoland Malaysia Waterpark closes at 6:00 p. m. so we roughly had 4 hours stay inside the park. We were not able to try other activities and attractions because we ran out of time. Other stations are Splash and Swirl, Lego Slide Racers, Red Rush, Tidal Tube, Twin Chasers, and Wave Rider. We had a short but truly an awesome day at the water park and if time and budget permits, we will go back here again together with my nephews and nieces.

Tips for first-time visitors:
  • If you are not staying in Legoland Hotel, don't forget to bring your own water bottle.
  • Don't forget to bring your own towels.
  • Book a 1-day ticket and be there from 10: a.m. until 6:00 p.m., it will be all worth it. It's super fun!!!
  • Bring sunscreen even if you are not going to swim. Make sure to reapply as needed because it's hot and humid there.
  • No need to bring or buy water floaties, they have life jackets for all ages.
