Product Review: Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask

Friday, December 21, 2018

One of the infamous ingredients when it comes to having soft and smooth skin is milk. I presume that once in your life someone had told you that drinking, applying, or even bathing with milk will give you baby smooth skin. I've also read that milk is one of Cleopatra's secret to having beautiful skin.

Gone are the days that you have to buy cartons or boxes of milk just to create a skin care mixture containing casein protein. Althea Korea recently introduced the cream milk peel mask that aims to help moisturize skin in just 60 seconds. Enter Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask- a gentle peeling mask containing milk for a refreshed complexion. A self-bubbling clay-like texture that is suitable for combination skin types, enlarge pores, rough, sensitive skin that needs gentle exfoliation and dry skin that needs moisture even after peeling. My thoughts after using this for more than three weeks below.

Product Review: Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask

I've been using this mask for almost a month now and I can say that there's always a happy feeling while using this product because after massaging the mousse-like texture mask into my face, it turns into bubbles in just 30-60 seconds. I love leaving it for a few more seconds before rinsing it so that the protein will penetrate deep into my skin.

What I like:
  • It is packaged in a plastic pump bottle for easier dispensing of the product.
  • The main ingredients- AHA and BHA are two of the most effective ingredients in exfoliating dead skin cells.
  • It has a faint scent of milk that can pass as odorless.
  • The texture is thick but not that of clay. It can pass as mousse and creates a dense lather that removes dead skin cells easily.
  • A little amount of the product goes a long way.
  • It's easy to use. I only need 60 seconds max to do the whole thing- apply, massage, rinse and moisturize my skin.
  • Makes the skin smooth and glowing.
  • No irritation, breakouts or whatsoever.
  • Batch, manufacturing, and expiry dates are printed on the box packaging.

What I don't like:
  • None that I can think of so far.

Will I repurchase? It's in the realm of possibility.

Recommendation:
I give this a 4.25/5 rating. If you're a fan of AHA and BHA and want a mask that gently exfoliates dead skin cells, I highly recommend this cream mask. It's really gentle in exfoliating because I can use this twice a week without irritation or redness after. I love that it also has kaolin in the ingredients list because it's also another skincare product that helps detoxify skin impurities.

    1. Hi Tingting,

I use this before taking a bath. You use this first then wash your face followed by toner.
