Product Review: Glupa Glutathione+Papaya Soap

Thursday, December 4, 2014

I've tried a lot of whitening soaps sold in the market today. If you're a lurker in this blog, prolly you know that I've switched to organic soaps for the sake of my sensitive skin. I'm fair already to begin with, whitening soaps either lighten skin blemishes that I get from pimple marks, insect bites, or minor wounds like paper cut or from unconsciously scratching my skin while sleeping. I use whitening soap to maintain or even out my skin tone because there are times that I'm always out running errands in the afternoon. A change in a tone like one shade lighter is a bonus for me and it only means that the soap is very effective. For reference, I'm NC 15-20 in MAC.

Anyhoo, I was invited by Age Defy Solutions the makers of Glupa products to an intimate gathering of beauty bloggers months ago. They gave us full-sized samples of their skin care products to try. The first product that I'm giddy to road test was the Glupa soap. I got intrigued with this whitening soap because the endorser is Boy Abunda. It is also a whitening soap that contains powerful combination of glutathione and papaya. After a month of using the soap, here's my honest to goodness review of Glupa (Glutathione + Papaya) soap. Click CONTINUE READING and find out my experience.
Product Review: Glupa Glutathione+Papaya Soap

Glupa, is a breakthrough combination of Glutathione and Papaya that gives you twice the whitening power and twice the Glutathione content. It also provides the proper nutrients needed to promote the body's own ability to manufacture and utilize glutathione

Glutathione + Papaya makes the best protection against oxidative stress in cells, thus, strengthening our natural defenses, markedly decreasing our risk of getting sick, increasing the body's ability to utilize whole food antioxidants, while guarding against the effects of free radicals on the body's aging process.

What I like:
  • The black packaging looks classy.
  • It has 3 variants (Glupa, Glupa Skin Solutions Plus, and Glupa Men). There's a trial size suited for budget conscious individuals.
  • This variant has a cool menthol scent that I like because it's not overpowering.
  • It produces a rich lather and washes off easily.
  • No tingling or burning sensation, irritation, breakouts or whatsoever.
  • This soap exfoliates well. I can see dead skin cells on my body after rubbing off with loofah.
  • This soap is non-drying.
  • My skin feels soft and smooth to touch after use.
  • There's a certain glow in my skin after use.
  • Even though the soap is cold- processed, it doesn't melt fast.
  • There's a batch and manufacturing date stamped in the packaging.
  • Easily accessible.
What I don't like:
  • The price is a bit steep for those who have a tight budget.
  • Again, wasn't able to see a significant change in my skin tone after a month's usage.
Will I repurchase? Yes! This soap is promising and I think with continued use, I'll be able to see the lightening effect on my skin.

I give this a 4.5/5 rating. I highly recommend this soap if you have a medium skin tone and wants to maintain or lighten skin without drying. This soap is also composed of grapeseed extract, vitamin e, and arbutin known to beautify the skin. Since the soap doesn't melt fast, no need to cut it into half. Good thing this soap weighs more than the competition brand of the same price. It's also easily accessible so no need to worry where to buy.

    1. Hi Lovely,

How was your experience? Hope you can share :)

  4. My brother is using Glupa Soap and it did had a great effect on his skin. His skin got lighter and his face looks so fresh, clear and tight so I decided to give it a try. I have some pimples and acne and while I was digging out for it, I saw Glupa Skin Solutions Plus. The one with the Acne Buster. I bought and tried it. After just one to two days of using it, I had a significant increase in the amount of breakouts. I've been using it now for 5 days and I could see that my skintone got lighter but I'm having more pimples :( The first time I used it and up to now, I feel tightening, burning & itching sensations in my face. I know that for some products at first, that is normal to be felt and it means that the components are acting up on the problems then after a few days, those sensations should vanish and great results would show. Its been 5 days & my face gets worse :( Very disappointing. But I'm still giving it a chance.. I'm not sure how long I'll give it a try before I give it up...

    1. Hi Niea. Good thing i was able to read your comment. Same thing happens to me. I have been using the same product for 2 weeks, and i got more breakouts..

    2. Hi Niea,

I think you're in the purging stage since you're using the acne buster. If after two weeks the pimples and breakouts get worse, better stop it. Your skin reacts to one or more ingredients.

  5. My skin got dried even putting a moisturizing lotion, the dryness is still there. But i still continue to use it since i havent seen the effect yet (coz im already fair). I dont know if i need to continue to use it next time. Advice please.

    1. Hi katz,

I guess you need a moisturizing lotion rather than whitening ones. How long have you been using this lotion na?

Thank you for visiting my blog!~ I would love to hear your thoughts :)
