After the fight of Manny Pacquiao today, another much-awaited event is going to happen on May 2, 2014- the One Fighting Championship Rise of Heroes at Sm Mall of Asia Arena. Three Filipino fighters will showcase their skills in mixed martial arts that's gaining popularity among Filipino sports enthusiasts.

During my childhood days, I've been a fan of wrestling and martial arts that's why when Ms. Charmaine of One Fighting Championship invited me to the open media workout of ONE FC fighters Eduard Folayang, Jujeath Nagaowa and Eugene Toquero last April 2, at Ultimate Fitness Metrowalk, I was ecstatic and very excited. Since this blog also tackles some fitness and health issues, I didn't hesitate to accept the invitation and immediately shared the good news to the hubby who's also an avid fan of boxing, wrestling and mixed martial arts. To be honest, I really don't know the fighters that's why we had a  little research on them before we made an interview. If you're a One Fighting Championship fanatic, prolly you already know these fighters and their backgrounds. I'm sure you know how they've started training for One FC and how many fights they have won. As much as I wanted to give details on these players, I'll focus this post on what happened during the open media workout. The hubby made a short video on Eduard Folayang's power-house kicks and Eugene Toquero's moves. Will also show some photos of Jujeath Nagaowa- the first One Fighting Championship female fighter in the Philippines. It's her debut fight so I guess our 100% support means a lot! So without further ado, here's what happened during the open media workout, I'm impressed with these fighters who are very determined and confident to win against their opponents. Click CONTINUE READING and enjoy watching the video :)

Eduard "The Landslide" Folayang while having his one on one interview with Yahoo sportscaster and other media personnel. Based on the interviews, he is 100% ready for this fight. He trained hard and studied the moves of his opponent. His determination to win showed during the workout where he made powerful kicks that made the venue's wall vibrate literally.

Here's Pinay pride- the first Filipina fighter signed by One Fighting Championship Jujeath The Legendary "Bad Girl" Nagaowa during my short interview. This 26 year old boxing champion will be making her debut to One FC this May under atom weight division. From winning several titles in her boxing career, she is now entering mixed martial arts. With her passion to win, experience from past fights and the determination to beat the opponent, I'm sure she 'll become the first Filipina to hold a MMA world title.

  1. Hey, Kathy! It's cool that you support MMA especially Pinoy fighters. Are you training in jiu-jitsu or boxing or any facet of the sport? That would be really awesome.

  3. Well, it's good that the local mixed martial arts have been penetrating the mainstream shores right now. Before, it was just URCC, or UFC; now, aside from PXC there's ONE FC. And with Filipinos participating? Ain't bad at all. Best of luck for them.

    1. I'm happy that OneFC is here to open their doors to Filipino MM artists. I've know URCC and UFC but don't watch their fights because we don't have cable tv. Thank you!
